Are you a troll ? If not please get you information from literally any source because you are way off here, where did you pick up this information from?
Do you not see the question mark at the end, I'm asking. Somebody said it to me and I'm looking to check the information.

So you decided to go on Boards to find the information. Somewhat strange when a search on the internet can find it for you.

It reminds me of your posts where you said you'd demand Ivermectin as treatment if you become sick with Covid. Even though it hasn't been approved as a treatment yet

    Taken from main covid thread.
It looks like the vaccine rollout is being overhauled.
I think it makes sense. do a birth year each day. cuts out a lot of red tape.

Did you ask whoever gave you that 11 million figure for blood clots what their source was for that figure ?

It looks like despite the USA excellent roll out of the vaccine the government are considering putting the USA on the quarantine list.

Any word whether the big delivery from AstraZeneca "in the final days of March" has arrived?

How many people have taken AZ, how many blood clots, is it over 11 million with blood clots?
At this stage I think I'll avoid AZ. I'm sure I can manage to be unable to make it until it's some other vaccine they are offering.
There's just too much of this stuff going on.

Over 11 million with blood clots ?? You know well it's nowhere near it. If it were 11 million it wouldn't be given any sort of approval but sure you know that

No, because they would just ignore it.

    That response makes no sense.

You came on here asking if AZ vaccine caused 11 million blood clots. That is a ridiculous question to ask.

It wouldn't have got near approval stage if that was the case

How on earth do you make that out? I know the person and how they act. You don't.
    Cop on.

I'm in Group 4 - confirmed by my GP yesterday but they say they've still been given no instructions on vaccinating group 4, only over 70s. :(

Whatsmore, they seemed surprised to find out that I was told by the hospital that my diabetes care was being transferred to them (2+ years ago) - they did not know what diabetes medication I was on, (despite prescribing it) or how to adjust it.

    Great.

What are they saying here that is incorrect? Vaccinations will reduce hospitalisations. The lowest risks groups are the largest population pools. You have to keep some level of restrictions in tact until they are vaccinated. This group can still flood the hospitals.

Pretty much everyone will require another vaccine in the winter and this will likely cover the current variants of concern. We should have plans in place to prevent other variants from taking hold here.
Will they?? Is there evidence that immunity lasts less than 12 months?

As for "variants of concern", did you see the latest study from Israel which found no discernible evidence of immune escape in their vaccination programme despite many variants (primarily the B117) in the country.

I am of the mind that anyone who refuses a vaccine should be put to the back of the line.

Refusing a vaccine that some would give kidney for, maybe go check that privilege there mate.

By the sounds of things, that is exactly what will happen. And rightly so.

People are perfectly entitled to make their own choices on the vaccine. Not your place to judge.

The vaccine changes seem good. On paper it should free up a lot of the administration side and allow things to be done quicker. They still need to sort out the gaps in the GP's that should already have vaccinations that don't though, too many stories of that still around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,207 ✭✭✭✭Stark

I think by the time we have cohorts 1-4 + under 65s in long term residential care done anyway, then vaccine supplies should be at the level where it's only a few weeks in the difference for people.

To be honest, I'm pro vaccine but I do not feel comfortable taking the Astra Zeneca vaccine at the moment. There was an article in The Guardian stating the incidence of these clotting events and may be more like 1 per 100,000 or even less in the relevant age groups for the reaction.
Would it make any sense to stop giving it to women under 55, and continue giving it men in this age bracket. Plus the over 65's also.

Benefit far outweighs the risks so as someone in their 20s I'd have no issue taking AZ in the morning.

No I don't think it's rollout should change. Its used in massive numbers in the UK, if there was something that constituted a widescale risk it should have been picked up by now.

The number of clot incidents are relative to the numbers vaccinated, very low and are also seen in other vaccines.

You've more of a chance of clotting from getting covid

Given the age range of women predominantly affected, I wonder could it be a reaction with the contraceptive pill? Maybe there's a type not used particularly in the UK that is in Germany?

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

The risk of blood clots are probably equivalent to a long-haul flight. I wonder how many people have ever not taken a long-haul flight because of the risk of a blood clot?

It's not a clotting issue, it's more akin to a blood disorder that seems to be brought on by antibody that gets created in the body. I haven't heard of any reports of that in any other vaccine.
Comparing it to a regular blood clot is not accurate.

It should be done on a risk based analysis.
Hard to convince a young healthy person to take AZ in the likes of NZ if they stand a higher chance of death from the vaccine compared the the risk of Covid, due to them being zero covid (and I know NZ are using Pfizer only, it's just an example of risk)
