Scum, every single one of them

There is no viable alternative government, so as much as you say it won't be forgotten it will be.

    October 2020
MARY Lou McDonald has called for pubs to remain open.
Sinn Fein leader McDonald said she does not underestimate Covid-19 but disagreed with a move to close pubs and restaurants.
NPHET has recommended that indoor dining in pubs and restaurants in Dublin be banned as the county moved into Level 3 restrictions but the SF leader disagreed.
Wet pubs - bars which do not serve food - have already had their reopening delayed further due to surging cases in the capital.
Speaking on RTE's Today with Claire Byrne show McDonald said evidence does not suggest that restaurants and pubs are at as high of a risk for outbreaks as households.
She said: "What we're hearing, particularly in Dublin is that there is a problem with infection in our homes, with gatherings in homes.
"I think people have heard that message, I think therefore we need to be told what measures are needed to get a grip of that and to take the actions that keep people safe."

    December
Allowing house to house visits 'absolutely the right call' and questions the closure of pubs due to 'low risk'.

As bad as Donnelly it seems

So Mary-Lou did call for pubs to be opened.

    You still lying

Our Govt lost all credibility going against NPHET pre xmas which cost hundreds of lives

Withdraw your malicious accusation of lying.

Stands to reason, more people enter Ireland across the land border every day than by any other means. Sure we had one poster on earlier telling us that traffic across the border was as high as ever.

That poll is pointless for so the following reasons:

    1. Was done before the latest announcements
    2. Number of people surveyed was 1200
    3. The same survey shows support for Michael Martin was up 3 points compared to survey done last October.

Do you think this a relevant sample size and that the results make sense - support for MM up given everything that has happened?

Randos on the internet? So what? Is that why FF/FG/Greens go against NPHET advice, because of randos on the internet?
All messing and bickering aside, it was something at least to see 4 counties report Zero cases this evening. Including Monaghan as it happens.
A further 5 counties with fewer than 10 cases.

With 226,000 vaccines administered (150k with second shot) there is some progress.

Leaving the politicians out of it, the health EXPERTS are straining to emphasize the precarious nature of things.

Individual responsibility must kick, despite the fact you might be pissed off.
So if you hate Donnelly, make him irrelevant and do whats needed. If you support Donnelly, do whats needed.

Do you think people are flouting health guidelines just to stick it to Donnelly? See above, seems randos on the internet are who should be following.
The government are people we have to deal with being in charge. Donnelly and the others are passing through, they are not important enough to risk your life over.

That's not what the other poster was responding to.
Yes she said remain open in October. October is kinda Christmas right
It was FF/FG/Green decided to ignore NPHET advice.

Do you honestly believe scoring points against Sinn Fein makes an argument for or defends government? It doesn't by the way.

This is the Govt thread, SF never ignored NPHET over xmas, the Govt did

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Health David Cullinane TD has tonight commented on the proposal to stop indoor dining in pubs and restaurants in Dublin.

    Teachta Cullinane said:

"The increased incidence rate of Covid-19 - particularly in Dublin - is very worrying and has been for some time. Despite this, the government refused to act in a timely manner on public health advice to try and take control of the situation in the capital.

"This, we were told, was because the government was preparing a new five level plan; with clearly set out restrictions at each level.

"Pubs and restaurants are not the problem. They are controlled environments, and the latest figures identifying clusters show that there were just three clusters associated with pubs and restaurants across the State last week.

"It is clear that pubs and restaurants are not a major contributing factor to the spread of the virus and could, in fact, have a very negative impact by not providing social outlets for people, who may continue to gather in private settings; which are contributing massively to the spread of the virus at present."

There is every alternative. FF/FG/Green ****ting on the survivors will not be forgotten. They are leaving open wounds to fester.

What is the viable option then? In the election just gone - you can see that SF did not put up enough candidates even in areas where they would obviously benefit from to win more seats. They knew that they could position themselves to win big and then push on next time - the only problem is that covid happened.

After years of Rhetoric, can they really come into power, and impose cuts and increase taxes to pay for this mess? I've asked many times on here what is SF's plan for living with covid - and no one can tell me - because they don't publish any material themselves - why is that? Why not tell the people what they would do differently to get us out of this mess and get the economy open?
