Chicken Fillet Rolls ?

Had a chicken fillet roll yesterday. This thread must have been rubbing off on me as I kept seeing it.

4.40 for it in a centra. 4.60 if you go around the corner to spar. Total rip off for both.

That would be an ecumenical matter.

I never request it but always say yes when they ask. I can see the benefits of both. One maintains the overall integrity of the sandwich, the other makes it easier to eat conveniently and in a civilised way.

how is it easier to eat if its cut in half. how is it more civalised. anytime the roll is cut in half you (or me maybe) end up with bits falling out on the ground on on top of me. doesnt happen when its not cut

To your first question: because it's smaller therefore can be held more easily. Surprised I have to explain that.
Second question: Because each section is more contained and therefore looks less like a glutton pummeling the thing.
Final observation: I agreed with that, so not sure why you're bringing it up. That's why I said the benefit of not cutting it is that it allows you to maintain the integrity of the sandwich.

it maybe smaller but you have to take it completely out of the wrapper to only hold half of it.

im not worried about looking like a glutton. im on sites most days . getting it into me is my main goal

Fair point. Might depend on context. I prefer taking the whole wrapper off rather than having to keep fecking around with tearing the paper off or anything.

Looking more civilised isn't a huge priority for me either, which is why I can kind of go either way with the thing.

Cut in half is an absolute must, preferably with one half slightly smaller which you eat first and then know you have more than half left yet as you took into the second half. On the rare occasion you forget to ask and they don’t half it you then have to tear it in half to eat it and it’s just not the same.

As an aside I hope no one is partaking today, tuna rolls are a must today.

Often the chicken used in deli's for chicken rolls is also used to fill cheap mattresses as it has a half life of several thousand years.

Personally I prefer a nice fresh roll buttered with some Tayto smokey bacon crips.

Can’t understand how people eat rolls like that. I like to spread the wrapper on the table and survey the roll, pick the smaller half first and tuck in.

Even when eating in the car I spread the wrapping on my knees and eat as above.

i remember in the store i worked in they upped the price of these rolls from 4.20 to 4.50 saying that it was due to an increase in the price of ingredients. But interestingly, the price of the fillet bought on its own did not change.

They most likely realised how dependent people were on these stupid rolls and therefore took advantage.
