Total landline time charged for was 17 mins 20 secs

    076 - 10 mins 4 secs
    0818 - 3 mins 42 secs

01 number - 2 mins 33 secs (this one also has an 1890 equivalent but I rang the landline version)
    01 - 0 mins 54 secs
    01 - 2 mins 1 sec

It doesn't add up to 17 mins 20 secs so now I'm confused

It does add upto 17mins 20 secs.

    Edit:

Actually you are right, 1034 secs.= 17.23333 mins.

Which equals 17 mins and 14 secs.

Scratch that, it lists all the calls on page 3 which I neglected to look at - was charged €0.91 for the 0818 number (3mins 44secs according to them) and €2.46 for the 076 number so you guys were right, regular landlines are included.

At least you understand now & can be more careful when deciding to call anything other than a bog standard number.

That looks like you were only charged for the 0818 and 076 calls with a call time of 13.76 mins x €0.2439 = 3.36 ex VAT

I'm very happy with it so far and no issues to date.

For anyone saying it’s only a tiny minority with issues, take a look at Twitter and search gomo ireland. Hundreds of tweets today alone about problems. People being billed despite being unable to port, being billed when they’ve not receive sims after 2 weeks, issues with numbers being ported to other people’s phones. It’s really bad. I struggle to remember a product launch as bad as this in Ireland.

    2 possibilities...

    1. The network "leaks" your number in the http header.

    2. They are just sending out blanket texts to every 7 digit number they like.

In any case AFAIK the recipient is supposed to send a confirmation text and that's the problem, what sane person would confirm they want to be scammed.

Those companies are pretending to get confirmation and Comreg are just allowing it to continue.

There are numerous stories throughout boards one of which was that the sender claimed that someone with a dumb phone had visited a webpage and opted in so it's obvious they (text sender) made it up.

Tip for anyone interested...for any 2FA SMS, use a PAYG SIM in a spare phone with zero credit so there's no credit to take.

ive been using payg and top up online/buy addons with the phone off to avoid the text charges

no way i agreed to anything or replied ,i think its kids putting in the mobile number

i finally spoke to someone yesterday and got them to stop

    Likewise, no issues, quick port.

Final Eir bill received and Eir SIMO account in-active.

There is always going to be issues, sure the same with Eir on a day to day basis.

In fairness, hundreds is a small minority when you are taling about upwards of 40,000 people... BTW, New Coke springs to mind, as does Irish Water. Theres a huge amount of happy customers who have switched over to GoMo, they just aren't as vocal as those who are disgruntled, as is always the case with these things.

I also note a huge amount of negativity and snobbery from the outset, from allot of posters in this thread regarding the deal, which caused a negative preconception from the outset.

I'm also willing to guess that many (but not all) cases where things have gone wrong have possibly been on the part of customers who have ****ed up in some way, such as providing wrong or incomplete address, emails, phone numbers... people who are in contract and didn't realise they could port their numbers. People who tried to do things that were not possible... like the poster who thought he had regsitered for more than two cards on one account... he still blamed GoMo for something that just wasn't possible.

Three more people in work ported in the past couple of days... no problems

For those recieving dodgy premium SMS messages (I was never aware of them until now)... heres a theory:

Yopu may have signed up to them in the past... you previous network may have blocked them for you, but now you are no longer on their system, the block is not in place and you are recieving them again... Word to the wise... don't sign up for premium messaging services or porn or stuff.

Tried a different pc, browser, phone, whatever?

Thanks! I tried Chrome on two laptops and chat didn't show, tried Internet Explore and it didn't show up and then I tried Firefox and the Chat option was there. Now I've been waiting 15 minutes for a response.

Can anybody confirm this? I searched the thread and GoMo.ie and can't find any reference to MMS other than this post. Can't actuall find a way to send MMS messages but don't want to use it if there's a charge.

I got my bill and was charged 25c each for 4 MMS messages.

Everyone uses What’s App or IMessage - there has always been a charge for MMS I could be wrong but if you type a standard message that’s above a certain amount of characters it will send it as a MMS but this is if you were writing an essay to a person that’s over 3 SMS in length or sending a picture.

That sounds about right, MMS we’re always around 25c or 30c, why anyone sends them these days is beyond me, especially with WhatsApp so readily available.

Very well said! I replied to someone on Twitter he ported but his phone doesn’t work - I asked was your phone unlocked as if it was not unlocked it will port but your phone will not be able to access the network. Some people don’t realise which I find it hard to believe as porting numbers has been around ages it’s not something new! I have two phones swapped over no issues what so ever!
If I’m in an area with less coverage I don’t panic or go mad I just say to myself I’m paying €9.99 and signal will be back shortly and it does - Some places might have bad coverage it’s like any network.

You didn't get charged for Oct, it's included (for free) in the 9.99 standard activation fee you paid at signup.
The bill should be for Nov with any charges extra made during Oct.
    Gooser14 wrote: »
You need to read your bill again. I think you will find that the 9.99 is covering the period 1 to 30 Nov and not for Oct. Any additional charges would be out of bundle charges from when you started using the sim to 31 Oct.

    It says:
    Billing date 01 Nov 19
    Usage period 01 Oct 19 - 31 Oct 19
    Monthly charge period 01 Nov 19 - 30 Nov 19

So the bill is paid on the 8th for the month of November then?
Usually my bills are charged after I've used the stuff. Maybe it makes sense though. It's definitely not the SIM activation charge as I paid that when I ordered.

Bills have always been a mix of advance and usages from previous billing cycle,
    with all providers.

Let me break down your bill from GoMo for you,

    9.99 from 1st Nov to 30th November
Any additional charges on top of your 9.99 are charges for calls and texts which are not included in you GoMo plan, or roaming data which you may have used.

Your initial 9.99 activation fee covered you usage with your plan for Oct. I hope this clears it up for you.

I wasn't sure when I sent them if I would be charged, the person I sent them to doesn't use Wattsapp or any other messenger, only texts.

When you order originally did you select a port date. I got a text to say it would be moved when it is delivered after I put it in my phone.

Got my replacement GoMo SIM this afternoon. Popped it in. APN & MMS settings are on the SIM .. but it won't let me connect to the network. So far, not having a good experience with them! I don't know their customer service hours but hoping someone is online tomorrow...

I got the replacement SIM via their Twitter service. Three replies a day is what it worked out at! Sigh.

The sim I got today was a replacement sim. My number has already been ported. When I ordered I selected a port date but I got no sim by then so port did not happen.
I changed the port date once my account was active. Only for my account to be deactivated again.

Just did a speed test there and compared it to this morning before I switched, it's a bit less than what it was at 8am, was 89 this morning and now it's 62, for half the price, I can deal with that....

That could be congestion though so I will check it again either tomorrow morning or Monday morning

The potential for this to be ****ed up was flagged early in the thread. This is Eir in essence. This reminds me of people complaining about a bad experience on holiday when they read the hotel reviews after they booked.

Too many people rushed in as if the 100,000 would be reached in days. There has been a herd mentality and a huge number of people couldn't even sign up properly as they didn't know what plan they were on previously.

I'd say the issues, which are probably only affecting 10% or less are about 50% Eir and 50% customer idiocy.

And I'm no defender of Eir but this thread is a sh1t show of people who can't read.

Hard time keeping up with all the issues people are having. I'll hold off asking for a replacement so. I wonder what caused it to activate the first time?
