Wow Kol, top five every time!

Rumours of a payoff are unfounded and scurrilous accusations :D

    Anyone interested in alternative tables?

This has been a welcome distraction today from sorting stuff for my uncle's funeral so I have all the data if people are interested...

Do you mean your scores vs Stu's?
    Yeah, that'd be interesting :)

Yeah, just compiling the data now. Be interesting to see how the contest would have gone with a solo judge either way :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,683 ✭✭✭Pretzill

I'm just pleased none of mine were picked in last place. And it's interesting to see there are a few of us on either the same points or very close.

So here is how the table looks with solely my scoring:

Name Ballad of Chasey Lain Irish Songs A Song For Europe Forever Young Lord/Lady of The Dance Total
    Tammy! 17 14 5 8 5 49
    Kolido 15 11 17 17 10 70
    fixxxer 11 2 15 3 4 35
    Barney92 10 4 8 10 6 38
    Banjo 12 10 11 9 16 58
    sullivlo 7 7 8 14 11 47
    Electric Nitwit 16 16 7 6 15 60
    Mollyb60 14 3 16 5 3 41
    partyjungle 9 11 15 7 13 55
    osh 13 12 4 4 7 40
    Pretzill 4 8 10 15 8 45
    Green&Red 8 17 13 2 1 41
    kitten_k 6 5 8 16 17 52
    Homer J. Fong 2 6 9 12 9 38
    Rikand 5 13 6 4 12 40
    MicksJaguar 3 9 14 11 14 51
    Sheridan81 1 15 12 13 2 43

And here is how it looks with Stu's:

Name Ballad of Chasey Lain Irish Songs A Song For Europe Forever Young Lord/Lady of The Dance Total
    Tammy 17 17 4 16 2 56
    sullivlo 16 3 17 6 4 46
    Barney92 15 4 17 14 1 51
    fixxxer 14 2 15 10 6 47
    Kolido 13 14 13 17 15 72
    Banjo 12 10 5 15 9 51
    partyjungle 11 14 15 5 16 61
    Pretzill 10 11 11 4 10 46
    Homer J. Fong 9 15 8 12 3 47
    Mollyb60 8 9 7 8 13 45
    kitten_k 7 5 17 7 12 48
    Electric Nitwit 6 16 14 3 7 46
    Green&Red 5 13 12 2 8 40
    osh 4 6 9 13 17 49
    MicksJaguar 3 8 16 11 5 43
    Sheridan81 2 12 10 9 14 47
    Rikand 1 7 6 13 11 38

So as you can see my savaging of poor old fixxer is balanced out by Stu

And vice versa for Rikand being brutalised by Stu, I balance that a little bit.

Some of the scores are almost identical though which is pretty cool.

sully's as an example, only one point in difference between us.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,780 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

    14pt difference for me!

Second with Necro, suck it Banjo :p
    Eleventh with Stu :(

Ten of those points actually come from Bed of Roses low positioning

Not long to go now until the final reveal. This round was quite tough to score because of the quality of the entries. Some unearthed gems, some old reliables, plus a couple of songs that just didn't resonate with me but were still good to hear.

Forget last place, I absolutely hate it. There are no losers in this 'game'...

    Pj5QTwo.png?1

Walrus is a means for us to interact in the community and share music with each other under the framework of a 'game'. Whoever finishes in 17th does not have the worst taste in music, whoever finishes 1st does not have the best. It's just a matter of compatibility in tastes between 2-3 people out of a group of 15+ in some wildly subjective categories in a widely subjective interest.

The actual winners are the judges and anyone else who chooses to give every entry a few listens in order to try and embrace something new or outside of their comfort zone. There be gold there in those playlists, yarr.

Songs I've ranked low, I'm definitely the better for hearing them despite their rankings. Off the top of my head - The Button Pusher, War of the Worlds, Arthur McBride, Saints and Angels, Butterflies, all songs which didn't fare well in a certain category for me but songs I will listen to again and have done since the rounds they featured in.

When someone submits something which I just can't mesh with, my thoughts don't automatically go to "Jeez, what's wrong with them?", no, more the opposite. Except for Eurovision round, there was some unreal gack in that :D

Actually given this is Walrus, this is how this post reads if it were a song

In parkrun, they have a tail walker, so no matter how slow you are at 5km, you're never last. There should be something similar in Walrus. I don't mind volunteering if anyone wants? With entries so bad that they'll always be worse than everyone elses?

(Too late for this one of course)

And what would be the point of me entering then so :pac::pac::pac:

    This is Walrus;

    Some make it to the top;

    giphy.gif

    And some stick at the bottom;

    giphy.gif

But the main thing is each one of us, tried.

    This warmed my heart :o

I might actually do a 5km run sometime...

    Sometime.
