Not sure. He’d made anti choice/keep things as they are remarks in the Dáil when he had the health brief.

Another great example of him going where the tide of public opinion takes him.
    He follows. He doesn’t lead.

Fair enough at least he listened and got on it. But he certainly didn’t get out in front of it. Kicked it to the Citizens assembly to get the temperature first.

Oh I'm agreeing with you, when I say he was fully supportive of repeal it was out of political expediency, as was his previous 'pro-life' stance.

Not true - the whole country knows that she's the one falling off the swing, so blurring would not hide her identity.

Wouldn't it be gas if someone did a parody reconstruction of the incident...... Complete with purposely blurred faces.

A "how not to use the swings in the Dean hotel" movie.

They dont have to release it as "Maria Bailey falling off swing" though just post some swing footage on their website and have a blooper reel at the end.

I was thinking that when I was replying to AJR, they should show the Apres Match lads the footage and get them to recreate it.

They could release a mashup of all the people that fell off a swing there over the years, and sued. That way nobody would no which one was her.

Anybody remember Iris Robinson? well stress and strain caused her to do some really strange things and the day before the public was to be made aware of her bad choices via Spotlight she issued a statement wrote by the DUP spin machine which included the words attempted suicide hinting at mental illness.
Iris was put out to pasture and people on both sides of the sectarian/political divide began to feel sorry for her husband Peter Robinson who was one of if not the most hated politicians in Northern Ireland at the time hence life moved on for Peter and the DUP.
Nobody was really after Iris she was just small fish but Peter was the shark

The swing case started about Maria Bailey a small fish in a big pond some including myself smelt a rat and quickly moved on to Josepha Madigan and there is a slight chance she could be taken out however a lot of obstacles are in the way.Josepha specialises in the complexities of Family law and if Maria spoke to her about anything in relation to a family matter the review undertaken by David Kennedy can kiss the Baby. David Kennedy would of been well aware of this hence the reason he took the job in the first place.
Now enter Stephanie Regan a mental health professional that felt the need to defend Bailey on the grounds of well mental health in the link provided Regan denies any suggestion of a FG link and states she has not met Maria for over 3 years.
Stephanie is a little shy on the backup in her public defense of Maria using the word met when she could have used the word seen.

    Conclusion
Josepha is safe and one to watch out for, Maria give my regards to Stephanie next time she is seeing you.
    Checkmate

At a century its להתראות from Sajid.

When can we expect a judgment from Kennedy and Varadkar on this muppet?

A judgment would suggest a sanction is to be decided. This came about because we're above scrutiny.

I hope all FG voters are keeping an eye on the news. This is the result of the actions of Bailey,Farrell and their fellow claim scamming travellers. So when you go out to vote the next time have a look around where you live and see the small businesses have been put out of business because of huge insurance hikes. Look at your own motor or home policy and keep it in mind when you vote and remember actions speak louder than words.

Many locals will have noticed a sharp rise in their insurance costs, particularly for motor insurance and local TD, Alan Farrell (FG), has called for the Government to establish an investigation into the insurance industry.
He is citing the increase in insurance costs, particularly in the motor industry, as warranting such an investigation.
He told the County Leader, “Consumer Price Index figures for April 2016 from the CSO have shown that, over the year from April 2015, there has been a 34.2 per cent increase in the cost of car insurance, a 9.9 per cent rise in insurance related to the dwelling and a 3.2 per cent increase in the cost of insurance related to health.

The TD alleged he suffered neck and shoulder issues that affected him for up to 18 months following the accident in Drumcondra, Dublin, on April 9, 2015. The Public Accounts Committee member sued for €15,000.

The accident occurred when a woman in a Hertz rental van took her foot off the brake when a spider ran across her arm, frightening her while driving and causing her vehicle to roll into the back of his Audi.

Giving evidence to Dublin District Court, the Fine Gael TD told how he was left in pain after being "shunted" as he sat in traffic in his Audi A6. The court was told the driver behind him was at a standstill in traffic when a spider ran across her arm, causing her to panic and take her foot off the brake. Her vehicle then "rolled into" Mr Farrell's car.

In his summons, the TD said he experienced difficulty for six months following the accident, claimed he had to reduce his activities for up to 14 months afterwards, and suffered occasional spasms.

The case was heard before Judge Michael Coghlan who said there were "slightly unusual" aspects to it, including the fact a claim for damages to his car was dropped, according to coverage in 'The Sun' newspaper.

The judge said: "There is little or no notation to back up a claim of significant whiplash." During proceedings, a photograph was shown of Mr Farrell at the top of a ladder with his hands on an election poster, taken four months after the accident. Mr Farrell said the photo was staged.

It is understood that Hertz will have to pay legal costs, estimated at €10,000. Mr Farrell did not return calls, and Fine Gael said it was not commenting.

    From today's examiner.

Recently, I headed off for a ramble to Knockshegowna Hill, in north Tipperary, where the enterprising Kenny family run a mountain-biking park and also welcome ramblers.

Alas, a sign outside proclaimed that, due to “unforeseen circumstances”, the bike park was closed until further notice.

The bike park website stated that the closure was due to the “national insurance crisis” that is affecting activity-based businesses this year. The park remains closed.

The Promenade Festival, in Tramore, Co Waterford, and the Ballina Salmon Festival in Co Mayo have also been cancelled this year, due mainly to rising insurance costs.

Rathbeggan Lakes Family Adventure Park in Meath will close for good this year due to an annual insurance cost of €40,000. Killary Adventure Company in Galway has also been impacted by insurance concerns. Manager Shane Young, is quoted as saying:

“We do an obstacle course challenge for kids and we had to take a lot of obstacles out of that. If there was a chance of a kid scraping their knee, then you can’t have it.”

    .

FG had Richard Bruton go for leadership and the party opted for Enda, that said everything about them as a party.

The top two in FG are lining themselves up for jobs in the EU now and **** the Irish people
Did Enda ever get a job on Europe after finishing up?

Crèches are next, people claiming because their child got injured playing getting big payouts, owners of smaller crèches are questioning if it’s worthwhile already it’s not going to take much to push them over.

Two of my neighbours (years ago) went to court against each other.

First neighbour had asked 2nd neighbour to mind her child while she went to the shop.
The obliging neighbour said yes sure (kids were out playing on the road).
Once she was minding them, she asked them to 'come in off the road, while daughters mother went to the shop' and to play in the garden.
While in the garden the kid tripped and bust her lip and tooth.
The mother returned from the shop and the court case went on for years - I think 5.

The mother + daughter did not win.
The mother that sued is now in a group with parents of a friend of mine, and they hate to go for meals with her (and husband).
They know before the meal has been served, that they will comment on it, say it was unpleasant/there was a hair/it was cold etc. to try and get money off or free.

That it usually the type of person who will make a claim when they bang their bum/bump their butt.

I was talking to a man last night with a pint in each hand in a pub I was never in, who said they refused to take him.

Something about an over active imagination and crap memory.

Oh it’s certainly not most parents but enough that it affects the insurance. Oddly they often wait nearly two years after it happened and after they have finished with the crèche. They don’t stop using the service that they think were negligent to their child.

The Ballina Salmon Festival has been running each year for the last 60+ years..
Local word is that it will not be run this year and that insurance costs are one of the major reasons

Wasn’t there a report that injury awards aren’t the reason?

Basically insurance companies are making more then enough to cover those costs but are happy to make out that’s the reason.

Anyway still hoping Bailey is gone.

The problem for traditionally high risk liability cover is that not many insurance companies offer the cover.

In a more profitable cycle more insurers popup and offer cover and stupidly low prices.

When claims pile up they stop writing the cover and businesses invariably end up with Lloyds agencies who have much higher minimum premiums, £5,000 would be the lowest.

Legalities and actual costs to insurance companies are all legitimate discussions, however for me, this thread topic is the example of bailey's claim, (and Farrell's) in the face of her party complaining about 'claims culture' and what with them being in government and that. Hypocrisy basically.

Good lad, blame the insurance companies, nothing at all to do with "the best people" making dodgy claims just because they are in your gang.

Sure it's all made up, like the homeless crisis, Climate Change and Charles Haughey.

Story is rumbling on, and on, and on and on, Bailey still in her job, Farrell still in his job, Madigan still stonewalling all in sundry who questions her about her role in the whole thing.

Was she present and seen what happened?
Did she represent Bailey in the suing case?
Did she tell Bailey she had a clear cut case?
Was the "no signage" and "no supervision" her idea?
Did she decide to go to the court with the higher payout?

Josepha will neither confirm or deny.

Reminds me in Paulie Walnuts from that other well known crew of gangsters. "They know, but they don't know";)

The reputational damage this must be doing to them as the party of law and order must be irreparable at this stage tbh :D

It's bad when the Fine Gealers are using the same excuse as dole scammers, "sure they have plenty of money, I only want a little bit even if I'm not entitled to it" .

Apples and oranges. Bailey was seeking an outrageous sum for the embarrassment of tumbling on her derrière. Leo held up a goofy placard to cover party inadequacies.

    Wouldn’t say inadequacy.
They’ve been quite sharp and sinister when it comes to cooking the books on unemployment figures for example.

Recently SW passed my details on to a private company they hired called seetec. If I don’t engage with seetec my payment gets cut off.
I happily engaged and got on a course I wanted and couldn’t afford, I’m now ‘off social welfare’ but instead being paid by a company that runs the course who in turn get paid by the European training fund. That’s all good.

Course only has 6 weeks left and I have to re-sign on and engage with seetec again for job placement. Seetec are rather ruthless and will put you in any job just to get their fee from government.

So again, Leo farming out the problems to others and lying about the ‘falling unemployment figures’ just for positive spin and PR. Actively cooking the books.

This is done in staggered stages every couple of months it seems.
I haven’t yet checked but I’m told seetec are shady at best, (I certainly didn’t agree to my details being handed over to a private company. But GDPR eh?) and they were also ran out of Britain and contract cancelled there by the social there for shady practices. That’s anectdotal for now, I haven’t looked it up yet.

But one thing for sure. They spent huge money on that welfare cheats campaign.
Surely how they’ve been hoisted by their own arrogance and have to apply the same ruthless approach within their own ranks.

If they don’t...there’ll be hell to pay.
