Snowing like bejaysus here in Ballybrack and beginning to settle. We must be inland and on higher ground so (10 mins walk from the sea and 4meters above sea level approx).

Forecast made 10 minutes before the snow started shows how very tricky marginal snow is to forecast.

1650Z - forecast light sleet generally, moderate sleet until 1800Z

    1700Z - moderate snow falling.

Last year storm Emma really dumped tons and tons of snow, this year storm Freya wants to be remembered for the much more normal snow levels.

Snow is wetter here near the airport than it was. Not contributing anything on the ground atm. Slight thawing.

Edit bit heavier now. Chunky flakes again.

Easing off now. Dublin and airport should be fine in the Morning.

Still light snow in Dublin 5. Can’t believe we got a snow covering right by the coast. Didn’t even feel that cold earlier

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,979 ✭✭✭Slashermcguirk

1 degree in Dublin and yet 11 degrees in Liverpool and 12 degrees in London. UK so mild in comparison

Snowing for nearly 3 hours here in South Kildare, though the last hour has been lighter but still constant.
I imagine Dublin still has a bit to go.

I can’t believe they got it so wrong.
Some of the posters warned us yesterday of snow!
