Very heavy snow here on the Laois/kildare border for the last 3 hours. About 4-5 cm fell. I am in a slightly elevated location. Temps dropped to Oc back up to 3c now and the snow has changed to sleet. What fell is starting to thaw already with increased temps,
Kids had a great afternoon. Roads are particularly bad and a few trees have fallen.

    Tying it's best.

    Bless it's cotton socks.

Cars crawling on the roads here in Portlaoise , it really is dangerous enough at the minute , a few skidding around the place .

    Drive safe everyone .

This was the roof of the car an hour ago .

Just walked down to the local shop and of course boy racer doing the idiotic wheel spin and skidding round the car park. Not sure if deliberate or is the only way he's used to driving.

    Any snow?

Clear blue skies and a beautiful sunset in cork city. Typical, cold.. but it’s the first time we get a clear sky in weeks!

Definite thaw right by the sea in North Dublin over the last while

Airport struggling. Aircraft parked for ages waiting for snow to be cleared and landing system is down meaning the reduced visibility is causing big problems.

Should all sort itself overnight but if you're flying in or out for the rest of today, bring a good book.

If it's a condenser boiler, check the small pipe outside that drains the condensate out of it. It may be iced up and blocked ;)

Even when I saw well inland with snow I figured I'd get from Swords to Ballymun the back way in good old fashioned rain. Snow really is a pain to forecast. Road wasn't too bad when taken sensibly though I got a hit of a load of snow off a passing truck to focus the mind.
