Changes with every run, so take with pinch.

That’s all meant to be snow?

I knew if I said the fog was preventing photos it would want to prove me a liar and rack off.

So, would I be right in saying that it is likely that Met Eireann are not going to issue an orange warning at this point. The precipitation front will first hit Ireland in approximately 12 - 14 hours.

Have to run an errand to Enfield on Friday evening, any idea what state Westmeath will be in by then? I'm assuming there'll be a decent dumping of snow at this rate.

Could still do it later depending on the models I suppose.

I found windy very accurate for yesterday & overnight. It's still showing a substantial amount of snow from 5am tomorrow, I'm still hopeful! #macroom

The M4 and R148 should be fine as they will be gritted if required. Even if it does snow and stick in this area, it's unlikely to be heavy enough to accumulate on busy roads such as those just mentioned. Quiet local roads, especially on higher ground could be a bit hairier to drive on if inexperienced.

The above is assuming it does actually snow!!!

    There won't be any snow.

Dunno, 8pm-8am tomorrow night sees a transition as the cold air mass pushes back. Could see SE, E and midlands E get an overnight of moderate snowfall from both the system and easterly streamers.

Thanks, not familiar with the area so unsure of what to expect but yeah won't be taking too many back roads so that's grand in the event of decent snow. Thanks for the advice.

The dew points for Cork tomorrow are not good but they are for Dublin....freezing or below for the Capital. That bodes well.

Have a look at this site.

Well that depends a lot on where you are.

I'm North Kilkenny/laois border that would have helped alright ðŸ˜

Latest GFS is showing a slight downgrade in precipitation intensity and amount of snow versus rain as the warmer uppers are forecast to push just that little bit further north. It's a very small downgrade however.

GL's thoughts as to where the sweet spot could be is still around about the same spot.

There also appears to be a bit more precip in the Dublin area so this would increase chances of snow falling later in the evening.

It's still only one run from one model though. This event is looking like being a Nowcaster!

GFS prob not too meaningful at short range showing a lot of snow for Dublin tomorrow

My Netatmo app is telling me 10.3mm precipitation for me, in Dublin 16, tomorrow.

Expecting, possibly, a rain to sleet to wet snow 'event'.

At least there is no high wind forecast for tonight so there may be some decent sleep....happy thought!

There are a lot of decent sized hills on the North Kilkenny/Laois border. If you're on high ground, I would say your chances are quite good. Your area is likely to be within the slightly warmer air that will make its way partly across the country so being a few hundred metres above sea level will be of great help to you.
