That track to Dublin is not going to happen. It just keeps fizzing out.

Isn't the motorway more likely to be gritted?

They usually grit the secondary road's too, from Clarecastle to Newmarket on Fergus...Drumlime... Six mile bridge.

That motorway early in the morning is a nightmare. If it's sunny they all slow down at a snails pace due to the sun glaring off the road...

Sunglasses seem to be rare in Clare..

Hailing all night in Sligo but hail that sticks not the hail that melts. If theres a clear slot itl be lethal in morning.

Not a flake of snow to be seen on the low land of North Wicklow. Temperatures haven't reached zero degrees Celsius either. No sign of frost on car bonnets or windows.

The sister is up near Letterkenny and they've a nice dusting of snow. I'm slightly jealous.

Torrential snow now falling sideways in Co Limerick. The ground that was wet with puddles of water an hour ago is white.

Fair play to Kermit for sticking to his guns despite other experts disagreement. Looks like a lot of the country got a good snow tonight.
I can only assume hes right about Thursday too so just booked it off work Thursday night .

The estate is like an ice rink. Gonna be fun trying to get out in a few hours.

Good snow shower earlier nothing since.

Snowing in cork city again. I don't know how long it's been snowing as I was asleep. It's coming down heavy enough.

Snow fairly falling now in Virginia. Looking at the radar we could have a couple of hours worth ahead. Country schools could close depending on how the backroad where treated earlier

I'm getting quite a dumping up here in Sligo, snow is light but consistent. Had 3 inches all day before dark and after a long gap between showers I seem to be under a steady train of snow and have about 6 inches now and it keeps on coming.

Because *we* aren't making travel more dangerous nature is, we don't really control it. If it shows snow we will get excited, this is the weather forum where any kind of extreme weather excited people. Especially after the drab January we just had with constant grey skies and mildness

Please then maybe keep an eye for those who will and do suffer in this harsh weather? Look out for old neighbours who suffer fuel poverty and cannot get out, and those with little ones?

It is getting dangerously cold .

    Thank you.

    Busy night here!

Woken soon after 2 by hailiboys ( Orkney word for hailstones) doing a jig on the ( aluminim )roof... various hail and snow flinging around out there since then. No idea what is happening beyond my path which is white round the edges but clear else.

It is bitterly, stultifyingly cold .

Maybe a baking day here ;) scones anyone? Maybe a rich fruit cake..

We shall see when light comes...
