Have to say I can't wait to test drive one. 215 Hp. Nice but it will be heavier.

Someone said here a while back they had planned to sort the wheel spin issue but haven't seen anything to confirm that.

Pity Nissan in Carlow are gone.

    Will be some machine alright

Will pull like a train with that 215bhp

I like the look of the new Leaf too

    Pity it's so expensive

For sure I would have one if it was reasonably priced, €30,000-€33,000

Got a great review here, cooling looks to be improved massively

The “buy once buy right” motto seems to have been forgotten

    Also the “5 second car”

    Hahaha

    That link is sickening.
The L62 can be had for less than $25k stateside.
Will end up being the guts of €40k here.

The test Mike links - does seem to fit nicely into Nissans use pattern for the car.

And that really is the problem with Nissan...

The 500 miles a day thing is a touch overdone by EV critics

But flexibility in usage of the car is important.

The test looks to have been a 200 odd mile to get there - stay a night or 2 and return.

Even with full on rapidgate knowing all possible problem scenarios - an L40 will do that.

Yes it does look like the temp gain is reduced which is good.

But id like to see how the 350/400 mile in a day scenario plays out.

That's where the cooling could really struggle.

That's because in the USA you don't get paid for having Kids or get a house, food, clothes , college or healthcare etc compliments of the taxpayer if you can't afford it. Here you do.

Not supposed to start until September at the earliest so hardly surprising.....

Any dates for the release of the price of L62?

Sad to say the leaf60 is DOA. No proper TMS and still Chademo DC rather than CCS. Add in the extra bonus of the cost @ circa 43K . I can't see many reasons why somebody one buy one .

You're correct, no one would pay 43 K for a Nissan Hatch even if it has 215 Hp.

Although a GTI Golf would cost probably 50 K with decent spec.

Tax is the real issue , we get continuously raped with tax here for everything and we continue to accept it.

Will the new ESB chargers have ChaDeMo and will they support 100 Kw ? if not I certainly wouldn't touch a 62 Kwh Leaf, not a hope in hell. Imagine a 60 Kwh car handicapped at 50 Kw charging ? ridiculous.

Don't kid yourself. They'll fly out of the showrooms.

I think you’re right. Ready availability of the car would be a big plus over its rivals.

The day i was in the nissan garage there was 15 ready to go out the door, all plated up ready for collection. Most of them we larger 60kWh ones.

Thats what eCars have tendered for (100kW CHAdeMO)... whether thats what they actually put on the ground is unknown.

Even on a long journey its not a big deal

    500km trip, you'll only need a 45min charge @ 50kW

    Theyll sell well unfortunately

They would be one of the first outside of APAC and one or two at dealerships. Chademo is limited to 50kW (43-45kW) generally.

True but then you need a destination charger or you'll have to charge again at slower than 43kW (note, leaf is limited to 43-45kW on 50kW units)

If they sell well, it's due to a dearth of supply of anything else. You can't even register for a Soul/e niro until 2020, TM3 not here yet, etc

    £40k Sterling in the UK!

If you want nice paint you have to pay Luxury Car Tax too, currently £320/year.

The PCP deals on offer are really crap too. I was hoping they might improve because it's now a lot cheaper to own a Tesla Model 3 on PCP than it is to own a Leaf 62, which is a little bit crazy.

It's on the Nissan.ie website. From €40,500 for the Leaf 62.

    https://www.nissan.ie/vehicles/new-vehicles/leaf/price-specifications.html#grade-ZE1-2

    From £35,895 in the UK

You're confusing monthly PCP payments with cost of ownership. They are not the same as a lot of people have painfully found out!

No big deal ? seriously ? 45 mins is too long................

On a 500km trip my family and I would want to have lunch or dinner. And go to the bathroom. That would easily take the guts of 45 minutes even in a fast food place.
