I bought a rolling block today and customised the scope for dollars straight away, but when I tried to customise again later, same problem. Am I doing something wrong or...?

I read that equipping your knife when you get lasso'ed will help you get out of it quicker.

I had the opportunity to try it earlier in St Denis.

Two guys in a posse tried to come after me, I used the varmint rifle to head shot them to escape.

Iv'e asked a mod to edit the top post. Iv'e lost the ability to edit it myself. So from here on out it will be mod dependent on the names being on the top post so any names that get posted just take note of them yourselves and we'll see what the mods think about maintaining it.

Have had 3 names since the last edit so it might not be to much of a hassle for a mod to edit. If so I can take note of the names myself and ask a mod to update weekly/fort-nightly.

    3 names looking for adds:

    weiland79 - Weiland79
    kegr16 - kegr16
    DarC_Kn1ght - DarC_Kn1ght

Logged in very briefly last night mostly to get my free cash and gold. Was wandering around St Denis, got ganked whilst in a menu, found the guy and got him back. Saw someone was mass-murdering cops in an easy to pop kill zone - for what reasons, only they will know. Some other guy was waving hello out on the plains and then pulled me off my horse, so I shot him in the head straight away.

But pretty much every player seems to be hostile and so I guess whatever smart balancing they had with GTA to match psychopaths with one another needs time to learn player behaviours to make it work. I'm not going to be playing too much of it even with improved prices if the simple act of trying to cross their gods awful enormous map which is taking what feels like a fortnight results in multiple deaths and diversions away form other people.

an online open world videogame, sure what could possibly go wrong? they toyed with this in Destiny but decided against it because people are asshats, that's why.

People seemed to be sound enough at the start, but got a wee bit more prone to attacking me last time I was on. Maybe it's cos I'm such a god damn handsome feller.

That said, it's the nature of the game. I gave plenty of grief in GTA and got hammered plenty of times and had a laugh at both happening.

Much as I'd like to, I can't see RDR2 Online lasting half as long as GTAO (abour 3.5 / four years for me) because it's so limited in scope. There's surely only so many horses you can bring into the game, a limit in guns and stuff, so the missions would want to be out of this world to have any sort of (to paraphrase Ian Dowie) continuous 'go-back-ability' :pac:

Aside from that, there doesn't seem to be anywhere near the amount of lads off the Boards / Rise (PS4) crews in GTA playing this - the crews and sh1te talk intelligent conversation in the parties was a major factor in that.

I won't return to this for about a month, so hopefully it will be more reliable when I go back on it.

I'm hoping they'll add gambling activities to the Read Dead online. Would love to play other players in Poker, as well as play Blackjack and Dominoes.

All it needs is a passive mode, problem solved. It’s absolutely baffling why it hasn’t been included because this game seems to attract the worst kind of assholes online. I don’t even remember GTA online being this full of absolute bellends when it launched.

I've a feeling this won't happen. If the game has the ability to buy currency, then you are getting into online gambling/gaming territory there which is heavily regulated. I doubt that is something they went to do, and rightly so. No micro transactions though, then fire away :)

    You buy gold, not $.

I doubt they'd have it so you could play for gold.

Ah ok. I haven't seen any option to buy either, so wasn't sure.

Not touching it again until they add it.

Has anyone else noticed that in the set up menu for Horse Racing, the gender of the horse you use is reversed dependent on what gender your horse is in the game? I have two male horses currently named, Reed and Alfie, and when I was checking the stats of my horse in the racing menu both were listed as female. I was confused at first and thought maybe I made a mistake but when I went back to free roam they were listed as male.

What do you expect after Fortnight etc.? Of course the problem existed before that as well (if you were around for the zombie survival games era and saw it's evolution from heavy focus on helping strangers to shoot on sight against everyone).

Not sure I get your point? Fortnite is not comparable to this, GTA Online is and that had a passive mode from day 1.

Game got patched there, seems to just be performance and bug fixes.

Don't think there is an option yet as it's beta but gold is their paid currency.

An irritating glitch is where a nag is called in place of your active horse. You have to travel to a stable to get your active horse.

Plus I bought lots of ammo and when I changed horses the ammo count didn't change to my usual horse and I was left with no ammo in a fight later.

for some people it happens after every load or mission complete.

Actually just got down to playing this tonight as I traded in the first game I bought about 3 weeks ago.... thankfully back playing.

But seriously WTF is with all these pinpoint dead accurate headshots, often from a mile away?

Are any of these people playing with automatic aim off?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,502 ✭✭✭✭Varik

There dead eye. But the aiming works the the longer you hold the aim on a target the more accurate it is, you see that circle decrease.

In races there's little aim assist, so it's either skill, luck, or dead eye.

Tried to play this with my friend this evening and I don't think I can remember when I had a more unpleasant and frustrating experience. Consoles really need to get their **** together and start working properly. We start a party, keep getting disconnected from each other when we start the game through a party. Google how to play RDR with your friend and it says you have to do it all in game. Simply puts us in the same instance and no means to party up. We're trying to talk to one another and figure out how the thing works and for some reason known only to Rockstar, the default conversation option is to broadcast to the entire server instead of friends only. So along comes 3 gangs of people who just spend the next ten minutes shooting us as soon as we respawn.

    Such a load of horseshit.

Did you start a posse ? Should keep you together that way.

Rockstar feeling generous - another free 15 gold bars to anyone who plays the beta up to December 20th. Plus $100 online cash to anyone who got the special edition, $1000 to anyone who got the ultimate edition, along with an additional $100 to anyone who pre-ordered.
