That Galician area had fabulous weather until a few days ago. It was in the 20s for most of Oct.

Yeah we realized that from talking to people here. It’s biting cold now really wintry.

After a beautiful day, temperatures have been dropping like a stone in the past hour or so. Just gone sub zero @ -0.2c. North Kildare

looking at netweather rain radar, interesting to see rain coming from the west over Ireland and the East over the UK!

Currently about 4/5 degrees here in Cork City but dry!

Edit: might actually be colder m, there’s frost on the card atm

Got down to -2.3C here near Tralee overnight giving a hard frost this morning which was slow to clear . Fantastic calm bright day with blue skies until high cloud began to fill in the afternoon. Cooled down now to 1.9C with light rain drizzle showing up on radar approaching the coast.

    Pic about 9.45

Temperatures will be rising after midnight as that cloud in the west makes further inroads.

This will be pushed back again slowly through tomorrow and tomorrow night looks bitter in the eastern half of the country, if anything a bit colder than tonight.

    Hi All.

I remember MT Cranium posted a few years back about his back ground and how he got into long range forecasting in Canada back in the 70s I recall, can't fully remember the details. Is this post still about I would be very interested in reading it again.

    Thanks.

What do ye reckon are the chances of a dry day and night for Dublin on Halloween, this coming Wednesday? Neither Met Eireann or YR predict any rain for Dublin, which given the very large low-pressure setup predicted by both the ECM and GFS, and the GFS' precipitation chart showing an absolute washout on Wednesday afternoon between 1 and 7, seems quite bizarre.

Hoping to see a couple of the usual decent bonfires in the city, so naturally fairly concerned about the chances of a torrential rain event during the day :D:D:D

Is the Shannon radar still down? Nothing showing on netweather or other radar apps I use.

spent the past 2 days in Limerick, it was certainly cold but not nearly as cold as it was at home. It got close to -4C in Dunshaughlin last night, a very cold temperature for late October.

Just noticed that this makes it the coldest October night on record at Dublin Airport beating its previous record of -3.3c on 25th October 2010.

Not the coldest October night overall in Dublin as Phoenix Park recorded -5.6c on 31st October 1926.
