Not doing too bad when Larkin is the "weak link"

He is one hurler that always did 'more' than he seemed to be doing, he is probably the 'best' club hurler in Kilkenny 2004 - 2017, influenced so many games and destroyed Shamrocks in 2011 Final replay. He had / has this uncanny knack of controlling a sliotar in a blink of an eye and have moved sideways at the same time so defenders can't counteract it or at best fouled him.

Remember the All-Ireland (2014 drawn match) where the defender swung him horizontally by grabbing him, Larkin was moving so powerfully and Barry kelly thought it wasn't a foul?

I'd also throw in Liam Ryan for Clara. Unbelievable in matches the last few years.

Dessie Walsh if a little taller or a bit quicker would have been a serious inter county hurler, I know that could be said about a fair few players down the years but seriously skillfull and a great hurling brain, talented soccer player too.

+1 Always thought he was a class hurler. I firmly believe if he plays well, Clara are well on their way to victory

Colin McGrath in goals for Martins. Countless countless unbelievable saves meaning we only lost games by 5 points instead of 15

Tom Brophy for Comer. Still in goals for his 27th year. Must be close to a record.

    Predictions at this stage
    Senior - Shamrocks
    Inter - Graigue Ballycallan
    Junior - Dunamaggin

Shocking miss by Fogarty at the end. Comer backs were superb but thought Village were shocking and hard to see them that poor again especially if the game is taken out of Ballyragget. Their management team spend enough time on the field talking to the ref anyway

    Why wasn't there Extra Time?

just heard updates didnt sound a great match but murphy done very well in browne.Comer will be dissapointed missed a good goal chance and obviously fogarty missed the free at the end.Very suprising no extra time.

It was the same as the other quarter finals. If any of them ended up as a draw, it would have gone to a replay.

Conor Delaney in particular was excellent but all the backs snuffed out the Village forwards. Michael Murphy had a strong showing again. Missing the last minute free from 45 metres in front of the goal and a couple of goal chances might mean Comer have lost their chance

Outstanding in 1st half of County Final 2015.... 0-4 from play. Lester, Conor Phelan could also lay claim to best club hurler from 2000 - 2018.

A scrappy game between near neighbours Freshford and Lisdowney looked to be headed the way of Freshford as they led by 2 points going into injury time until Conor O'Carroll scored a goal for Lisdowney and sparked jubilation. Freshford responded with a James Maher goal to get the Freshford fans dancing. In truth, this was not a good quality game with Lisdowney hitting around 16 wides. Freshford would have to improve substantially to progress any further.

    Gmore V GBC:
Poor game that did threaten to boil over at times but GBC just had far too much all over the field over a tired looking Glenmore team who were out playing for the forth week running. Glenmore played with the gale wind first half and didnt make use of it. Gmore were missing their first choice keeper and it did cost them. Stand in keeper Paddy Murphy made two good early saves but Davy Aylward puck outs and composure were missed. Sean Ryan scored a good goal,  Conor Flynn and Tommy Ronan impressed while Billy Ryan was fantastic. He scored some great points from all angles of the field and caused havoc when running at Gmore defence. I think next year could be a real breakthrough year for him. Alan Murphy was decent and Eoin scored two good points but Gmore just had no flow in their game. Ger worked hard but couldnt get any opportunity to get the ball in his hand and caused a threat.
GBC are going along nicely and have the defenders to stop favourites Tullaroan. Eddie pulled the strings nicely from Centre Forward today and chipped away with three points. They would be my pick to win it out if had to choose now!

Tullaroan were very impressive in beating Thomastown by 1-24 to 2-11. John Walton, Padraig Walsh, Martin Keoghan and Shane Walsh did most of the damage on the scoreboard. They look a well balanced team and I could see them doing well at Senior if they get there. They should comfortably beat Freshford who they have drawn in the semi-final. Jonjo Ferrell got Thomastown' s 2 goals.

Another great weekend of hurling strange not to have an intermediate semi final double header. Or even play the senior replay as a curtain raiser on Saturday to the intermediate game. Seems to be no taught put into scheduling of games.

Heard this evening from our board rep that paul cahill has been appointed to ref the senior final.seen him last week in the shamrocks v boro game seemed decent enough.
