140 a month for each child under 18.
Twins get an extra 140 per month, per set of twins.

So in theory 15 kids under 18, with one set of twins would bring in 2240 per month, plus family income support. I don't know how much that would be, because the website only goes up to 8 children, and 8 would get you about 800 euro per month.
Of course non travellers can avail of the very same benefits, if they put the work in .... :D !

I don't want to make this about benefits but.... 2240 x 12 months a year (presumably thats minimum money they could claim) thats is 26,880! Goodness thats a lot of money.

    That's just the Children's Allowance.
Add in FIS and it's another 10k at least.
    Plus the dole money.
    Heading towards 50k a year.

A regular family would need to be earning 80k a year before tax to equal it.

Don’t forget the free house and the €50k is tax free. Really rough maths tells me a family who contribute to society with a job and mortgage would probably need a salary of €120k plus to have €50k after their tax and mortgage payments

I’m sure posters like ‘end of the road’ will say this is not relevant, but is very relevant. We have gone down the road of wrapping these people up in cotton wool, they are untouchable in so many ways and because of these attitudes (they are special, leave then alone, culture, bla bla) and the actions of the travellers themselves they are completely segregated from modern society and the actions of their protectors are only further escalating this. Net impact is they don’t contribute to society, in fact the very opposite and they have no desire to and we are setting up their kids for failure and actions like we are seeing here (family feuds with no limits) are just the norm for them.

You don't get fis if you're on social welfare you have to be working at least 19.5 hours a week.

Can definitely rule that out then.

Possession of a firearm, and "making a threat to kill".
Attempted murder, grevious bodily harm x 3 would seem more like it, if they can prove he fired the gun.
Yesterday media sources seemed fairly certain that the woman arrested was the actual shooter

And in the bail conditions " inform the Gardai if you plan to leave the country".

They are probably just holding charges. The DPP would decide on the more serious stuff.

Is any news outlet carrying the story?

Nothing on any of the usual spots.

    I agree.

When will the media state the truth?

We don't do anybody any favours by ignoring the truth.

How dare you - the proper term is "culturally enriching indoor bonfire", boss

FFS - shooting a baby and setting their house on fire all in the one week? They're busy if nothing else!
