OK the re-run of the referendum appears to have the separatists ahead, if Spain had allowed the original vote to go ahead would the results have been the same.
It appears that the separatists have gained from the Spanish clampdown.

    Biggest party question

If the exit poll from La Vanguardia is anything like the final result in Catalonia, it could pose an interesting question as to who has the right to form the region's next government.

Normally, the largest party has the right to have the first stab at forming a government - according to the exit poll, this would be the unionist party Citizens.

However, the separatist parties may insist they have the right to try first, if they have the largest number of seats overall.

What does it mean though in general?
If the pro independence party wins is Spain obligated to allow another referendum on the issue of independence?
Still think Rajoy has scored seriously damaging own goals.

This normally happens when there is violent clampdown on democracy which leads to the people voting with more rigour which leads to more violent clampdown and then it decends into dictatorship as the ruling Government cannot comprehend why the people are disobeying their masters
