    Lovely finish

Cork 1-8 Clare 0-13 HT. we made a very sluggish start and only a late goal closed the gap, was 5 or 6 for most of the half.

limited tickets for the Waterford game on sale now

2 down at ht v Clare in the U20, we were 7 down at one point.

Clare down to 14 so I reckon the extra man will get us over the line. we looked much better in the last 10.

    It's on TG4 youtube

Cork down by 2 at half time in Under 20 against Clare. I have never seen this U20 team make so many mistakes!

Clare coasting along and then one on their sideline gets in the way of a sideline. Totally wrong thing to do which caused a schmozzle and that got Cork going! When you are winning just keep things going as is and don't give the opposition a reason.

Jack Leahy having a real off day. Hopefully turns in around. O'Dwyer is a great player. Hopefully Cork can take advantage of the extra man in the second half. It was a sneaky hit. When the bloods up, heads can go though.

From what we could see on camera it looked a very harsh red card for the Clare #4. There looked to be a worse incident about 5 seconds beforehand a few yards away where Clare’s #13 looked to connect with the jaw of a Cork player, so maybe the linesman got the wrong player?

all Cork after half time, leading 2-12 to 0-14 after 5 min. Jack Leahy with the 2nd goal

Leahy and Buckley ran the show in the second half.

Late clare goal pulled it back to a goal but Cork tacked on a few scores.

    Cork win 2-22 v 1-18

It shows the measure of Jack Leahy when he had a very poor first half but rebounds in the second half to play very well. Him, O'Dwyer and Buckley were excellent. They look ready for Senior almost already. Conor Whelan looks a great prospect on the Clare side. He played very well.

This team is so impressive. They really know how to react to things. Now of course we had the extra man but its all how you use it. Another good win.

What happened on the far side with the Clare official which ended up in the fracas? Need to watch it back tomorrow. Gave us a well needed kick up the hole anyway.

Clare lads cribbing in their thread about officiating - worst ref I've seen in a long time, the spare hand stuff from them was off the wall, and they were fond of chopping - 14 men and 5 yellows tells a story. Onwards and upwards.

It was actually the Clare manager Terence Fahy delayed in handing the sliotar over to a Cork player which started it.

Lads. Cork underage hurling is in good shape. I think if the Seniors can make the breakthrough and I say IF, I feel we could be the next ones to dominate hurling in Ireland. The seniors must first get over the line for that to happen.

  • Registered Users Posts: 538 ✭✭✭Corcaigh84

Imagine if the following make the senior grade: Jack Leahy, Sam Ring, Deano's son, and Baby Jesus' nephew.... it'll be the Four Horsemen of the Corkopalypse

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,884 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

With regards to the moaning from Clare supporters, well it's always something or someone elses fault whenever we win a match. People just don't like giving us credit for anything. The moaning after the u20 all Ireland final last year being a case in point. It doesn't matter what we do we'll never get the credit for anything from some people.

If and hopefully when we have success at senior level, the rest of Ireland will have well and truly earned the insufferable Cork supporters they will encounter, because the rest of the country has been condescending and insufferable towards us for far too long!

its nothing against cork , it was kilkenny last week and adrian mullan , i am sure we will spot something next sunday against limerick and be shouting blue murder for the week after too

its part of the game now , too much watching monday night football on sky and over analyzing referees , although i would say the referee was very poor last night , not on clare but on both teams

the reality of the situation we are playing with a deaccent u17 team from last year against a very good bunch of 20s this year its a pitty the game didnt finish 15v 15 as cork exploited the space with perfection after the sending off , the efficacy was a little off , the only way we will know exactly how close we are to ye will be by making the final and having another crack , these competitions have been a massive success since the split season has been introduced especially when you can access the, online

i have been more impressed with william buckley then jack leahy , buckleys shooting lets himself down at times but its something he will get right , he is a natural talent in fairness ,

Congratulations to Armagh today who won the Division 3A Camogie Final today. In their team was Jennifer O'Leary who won 4 All-Irelands with Cork and was playing at age 40! She last played for Cork in 2014 but now lives in Armagh with her husband so her surname is now Curry. Still doing great things!

They are both excellent. They got 1-14 between them.

I was very impressed with Conor Whelan from Clare too

yeah they are two excellent players , leahy was top class against waterford in the last game got two super scores , buckley has been on the radar that little bit more outside of cork maybe that's why i am drawn to him

conor is a good hurler no doubt , and a fine free taker , but from a future intercounty point of view he will defiantly make the panel but his impact i dont think will be as great as , say jack enright , michael collins or john cahill or sean rynne to us them players would be core players in this current panel that we hope to bring through to senior

it was an excellent game none the less , the format for this competition is excellent too , i am very interested to see how your game goes against tipperary next week , definitely worth the €10 on clubber

Cork were very pedestrian moving the ball from defence to the forwards throughout.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,044 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

That was poor. Not a player between them.

And we are all surprised with that result. What is it with Cork football they rarely can beat Kerry in any grade. Who is responsible for coaching underage teams right up in Cork? Because who ever it is isn't doing a good job and we continue to accept poor standards in this county. Football is in a bad way in Cork. Wait until the Seniors destroy us at the weekend in Killarney.
