Another tough day for the ladies football, held scoreless for 25 min of the 2nd half, 2-11 to 0-6

It will be like this for quite a while unfortunately.

Great character shown by the footballers to come back and win that one. That's our place in division two secured for next year. I think we need one more win to avoid the Tailteann cup now. I thought the hurlers would've got a tougher game from Wexford, but we won it handily enough in the end. It's a shame that we couldn't sneak into a league semi final, but the main thing is to have a strong championship campaign now.

It's a shame the league and champo are so close together. You have to weigh up a competitive match (or two) vs potential injuries before Waterford in April. Please god our tall athletic Seanie Leary incarnate keeps banging them in!

Yes its one of those games where you are happy to play in a semi final or maybe final but then you are happy you are not too. I just think it would be hard to beat Limerick twice so soon so best left until championship where it really counts. I would be dreading an injury or two as well in those games.

Ryan has correctly seen we needed more options and feels like we are better this year. Feels like we are more balanced. Hopefully Coleman can recover for later Championship games as he is vital. I still think Cunningham if fit could play a very important part too. No one has said anything about Robert Downeys Oscar win either but he just gets on playing well for Cork! 😂

Sully comes across as a bit self entitled in this interview, having a moan about being beaten by Ben O'Connor to the u20 managers job.

There is no world in which Sully should be managing a Cork team, especially at Senior, over BOC

In the Div 2b Camogie final(intermediate)

Cork won 13 points to 10

And in the Div 1 Camogie league game it finished

    Cork 1-15 Clare 1-6

Cork play Galway next and need to win to have any chance to play in the division final

2 late changes to the Cork team

Micheál Aodh Martin replaces Christopher Kelly and Maurice Shanley in for Kevin Flahive.

    Cork 0-9 Armagh 1-9 HT

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,031 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Goals from Chris Og jones and Luke Fahy has us 3 up with 5 to go

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,031 ✭✭✭zetecescort

    Draw, 2-16 each

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,323 ✭✭✭Seadin

Draw in the end. We could have won it. What does that do with the Tailteann cup? Have we enough to play in championship?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,397 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Disappointing not to see it out but a draw is a good result too.

Another game where we were not beat so thats good for confidence

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,632 ✭✭✭✭ACitizenErased

4th place is a solid position to be in, we should be okay

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,632 ✭✭✭✭ACitizenErased

And first team this year to score a goal (two even) against Armagh

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,865 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

It's a pity we didn't hold out for the win. It was a decent league campaign overall though. I'm confident that we'll be tough to beat in the championship anyway.

Great interview with John Cleary here. I think he feels we are in a good place at the moment.

Unfortunately its relegation for the Cork Ladies Footballers. Beaten by Meath today. I expected this as there were so many retirements and turnover of players. Once Katie Quirke got injured a few weeks ago, I knew they were doomed. Hopefully we bounce back next year with a rebuild.

    Meath 2-14 Cork 1-07

I see there was a win for Cork in the Minor Camogie Championship Round 3

    Cork 0-19 Galway 1-9

Hopefully we can be competitive against Kerry and challenge for a win at the very least.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,865 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

We were unlucky against them last year to be fair. We have to deal with Limerick first though. Losing to Limerick after our encouraging end to the league campaign, really would be the most Cork football like thing ever so it would! The aim has to be to make the quarter finals at the bare minimum.

ye must be happy with the form guide the league has shown up , narrow defeats to clare and kilkenny with under sternght teams , powerful performances in the last couple of weeks, green shoots big time ahead of the hurling championship

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,626 ✭✭✭roshje

No highlights again of the Cork footballers on the Sunday Game. Not great by RTE

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,143 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

It's the league. A lot of shadow boxing as they say. There won't be much between a lot of teams.

Connolly is a huge addition if he can stay fit. Scoring hasn't really been our issue though. The younger players coming through definitely physically stronger. Should be winning in Waterford and will be a big game v Clare.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,723 ✭✭✭windy shepard henderson

thats what i mean , ye experminted in every game , its a hard thing to do in cork if the results are not right ,and they weren't in late February but the performances were there , personally i would be worried about our trip to cork in week 2

I'm expecting Munster to be a dogfight though! The only team i'd be confident enough about us beating is Waterford. The Deise just haven't got to grips with the round robin format at all yet. They don't seem to be up to much under the second coming of Davy Fitz either!
