A great day for Cork. 3 wins!!

What a performance from the footballers there. Some great play all around after a start where I honestly thought it was over.

They really showed great heart, spirit and skill. Fantastic to see it!

    Great scenes there.. fair play

What a day. One of our best in a long time. The scenes when the footballers won was incredible!!

Brought a tear to the eye actually. It's been so long overdue.

Fantastic, well done to all teams, especially Footballers who were nothing shot of Magnificent

Missed all the sport today as I was travelling.
Read this thread as a catch up to find out the results.

Thrilled for the footballers- what a turn around from an awful start. They showed how good they were by destroying Kerry but today was the litmus test and they certainly proved what a fantastic team they are.

Great to beat kilkenny at any grade. They are a fine team with a couple of players still not performing as they can.

The ladies......They got back to winning ways again.

What a day for the Rebel County!!!

For Shamobuc and others who may have missed it or want to see it again, there were great scenes at the end of the game. Impromptu singalong and everything! Emotional stuff. Very proud day for us in Cork

Great day for Cork.Beating the Dubs in the u20 final, and a small measure of payback for Kilkenny, for beating us a few weeks ago at senior level.;) But well done to Keith Ricken, and everyone concerned with the u20 all Ireland win.Hammering Kerry in the Munster final, and beating the Dubs in the final. It don't get much better than that!Rebels Abu.

I'll admit, I started packing up my stuff after the Dublin goal. By god, thank god I didn't leave. Best atmosphere at a Cork GAA match in years! What a win, great group of players and a smart management team - every substitute made an impact.

The referee isn't helping us here, absolutely shocking

Agree, he is completely one sided. Sympathy for Kerrigan. Surprised it took 35 minutes for someone to say it to him.

Oh dear trust the Senior Footballers to bring us right back down to earth. that was truly shocking to day . They seem bereft of ideas as to how they should play some people said we had turned the corner well after to day that is patently untrue . Roscommon are no great shakes but Cork looked for all the world a divison 3 team which we are I would not be at all confident of promotion next year.

A lot of counties see us at gutless and know we will fold under pressure. That is both senior codes and unfortunately it's true. Hopefully the underage teams can change that perception going forward

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,377 ✭✭✭Seadin

Any team can beat Cork. The senior team can be so inconsistent. Roscommon have caused us problems throughout the years. Cork should be beating Roscommon at home full stop.

To be honest, I didn't see the game today but I'd be looking at next season in the context of our performances against Kerry, Dubs and Tyrone. Not in the context of a meaningless, nothing to play for, super8s game in the p!ssing rain.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,875 ✭✭✭Edgware

Wouldnt be too concerned about it. They know what needs to be done for next year. Start with getting out of Div 3 unbeaten

    Cork 2-6 Monaghan 1-6 20min left

I guess you'll have it more with young players but Cork struggling to hold onto the ball, misplaced or intercepted passes.

    edit: 3rd Cork goal

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,439 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Monaghan playing really well and Cork hanging on. Cork struggling to get scores

Cork have just got a goal so its now

Cork 4-11 Monaghan 1-8 FT. Well done to all

Cork win the Minor Ladies Football All-Ireland!

    Cork 4-11 Monaghan 1-08

Scoreline doesn't reflect how well Monaghan played but Cork were just able to soak up the pressure and then get the scores

Katie Quirke up front for Cork was the best player on the pitch. Took some great scores and she is very strong. Another one for the senior team! Whatever we are doing in Cork Ladies Football its working. The level they keep showing is amazing.

Great win for them. There is a wealth of talent coming through at all levels.

    Absolutely fantastic to see.

U20 hurling final fixed for Limerick on the 24th at 6pm. Pity there is no home/away agreement at this level. Would have preferred Thurles tbh.

Sorry if I'm repeating a conversation of old but the change in the senior hurling championship next year to create senior a & b format and remove the title of premier intermediate. What teams are in trouble of falling into the senior b grade?

I assume that Killeagh and Newcestown losing over the weekend they might move into senior b for 2020??

  • Registered Users Posts: 303 ✭✭cantwbr1

One thing that I heard was that the Senior A/B thing was brought about the restrict the likes of Imokilly. Senior B teams would be ineligible for divisional teams so Imokilly will lose players from Youghal, FON etc reducing their competitiveness
