    Directly attacking a poster. :)

    I'd say you'll survive.

Not the point - as well you know. It's one of the rules of the forum, boards actually. I don't insult other posters or tell them to "maybe get a life" when I disagree with their point of view.

From the Pat Kenny Thread btw, not Ciara Kelly:

    I replied with:

I see where you're coming from, but if asked to give a comment she should have given one. Lord knows she's not shy about giving her opinion on plenty of things she's not been asked to comment on..........

    Or maybe get a life...

    I replied with:

That's very different from what was suggested in the earlier post.

Also, I see once again you can't refrain from getting personal whilst defending your hero?

Except that's not what I did, is it? Seeing as you're so keen on accuracy, I commented on the post below - nowhere in said post does it mention Taylor Swift, underwear or concerts.

Ciara Kelly walked in to introduce her show but didn't comment at all when asked to smile.pngsmile.png

Most comments against what they're saying seems to be from men.

Your comment that I should "maybe get a life" is attacking the poster. Or do you disagree?
You are arguing about this thread while walking your dog... I would describe it as accurate. :p:D

I wish blocking people worked on the app. :(

I've tried. Still see their posts. Now they annoy me even more because they're a reminder I've tried to avoid them.

Ian O'Doherty, Carl Dieter, David Quinn.
Carl justifying calling women who slept with Harvey Weinstein to further their careers as skanks.
I heard this at the time, and I pretty much agreed with everything that Karl Dieter said, except for the use of the word skanks which was unnecessary and gave everybody a stick to beat him with. Also thought it was a strange career decision for him to appear on this as he did risk polarising his audience.
But he does make a good point. The one thing that I find hilarious is the reaction of the women's groups to the Weinstein scandal. They are all full square behind all the "victims" who slept with Harvey Weinstein to get the big movie role. Contrast this to the average female reaction in a business where a woman less qualified sleeps with the boss to get the big promotion. Do you think that this woman would be treated as a "victim" or would all the women in the organisation call her a "slut who slept her way to the top" behind her back?

I've often thought about doing that, but I reckon it's more valuable to know the sort of ideas that are being bandied around.

I was at home when I posted that actually. My cutting and pasting skills on an iPhone whilst walking two dogs aren’t at the level required to do that. As usual of course you ignore the substantive part of the post and the question asked.

    Closing so mods can review

OK, reopening the thread as the mods have reviewed it, enough of the silly carry on. Cards have been handed out, no sniping at each other, you know the score in here now. If unsure read the charter. If you aren't happy with a post or poster report it, don't engage in it.

    thanks

Indeed...shocked to hear sting slumming it on the show lol:D
To be fair i think it was to promote his show the Last Show at the Bord Gais Theatre.

And thank you to the mod for reopening this thread.

I accidentally turned this on today and she was giving out about a sachet of washing powder being in the pack women received at the end of the mini marathon.

    It was demeaning apparently.

    Daz mental.
Bold of her to be giving out over the Aerial.

Didn't hear the actual show (no accident) but heard her previewing it on Pat Kenny.
She said she was going to pull Sting up on being a stalker due to the lyrics of "Every Step You Take".
    Just wow!

    Is that a joke?

I presume she meant it light heartedly but with Ciara who knows? Didn't hear the show but the fact that she was going to bring it up in the first place says a lot.

Did she tell Sting that she used to be a GP?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,375 ✭✭✭✭kunst nugget

She asked him why he didn't just make a musical of all his hits like Abba did with Mamma Mia and you could tell he was totally disgusted.

Her interview with Sting is pretty terrible.

Listened to the interview and it was a brutal affair. Music isn't her strong-point, I'm guessing.

So RTE have hired Hope Solo for their World Cup analysis. Wonder will Ciara talk about her history and allegations etc against her? Or will that not count cause she isn't male?

It has got to do with her pronounced judmentalism.

given that she is all over any story she can find that is anti men and is always going on about aligations againt men. then surely talking abut a woman with alegations against her would be fitting for her show . but no , she wont show the other side at all.

i dont know what the alegations are i couldnt find them. but she is claiming to be inapropriatly touched by a high ranking fifa staff member.
im sure that side of her life will be highlighted and the rest conveniently glossed over

This thread the other day had people who had not listened to the show complaining about what she might have said to Sting.
The logical next step if to start complaining about stuff she has definitely not covered. She's really firmly entrenched under some people's skins, you'd need a surgeon to get her out.

What I caught of the show today (Andrea) was pretty tedious, far to much of the listener phone-ins. None of them seemed to have anything other than vague opinions without any substance to back those opinions up.

It's not that hard to find.

She doesn't talk ever about sports so I can't imagine it's actually going to cross her desk at all.

There's a daily two-three hour show devoted to sports on the station. Surely that's where it might actually come up as a topic.

The allegations have nothing to do with sports though do they? I'm trying to point out the double standards here, and media in general. If the Rugby World Cup was on this year, Paddy Jackson won't get a media job despite being cleared and if he did, Ciara would be at the front of the queue for a witch hunt. Swap roles around, and there isn't a squeak about it.

If RTE employed a man that had allegations of domestic abuse against them and were using taxpayer's money to fund that I'm sure it would be covered, esp. in the current climate.

There's been no mention of Hope Solo from any of the Irish media, why are people feeling the need to blame Ciara Kelly alone for not mentioning when nobody has?
