See the issues longitude had yesterday with queues and people being crushed, you'll have the same queues if they enforce this

Searching... sit tight for 11 minutes now. Not feeling hopeful.

    **** Ticketmaster.

    Were on sale long enough.

The issue with this is people had no idea that they would be on sale for so long it was hyped up so people were doing there damnest to get tickets. In my own case both myself and girlfriend ended up getting tickets as we were both trying, the last few times neither of us managed to get tickets. So now we have too many tickets and there is no option for legitimate resale.

Got three tickets for Dublin from the app. Had them paid for and was still in the queue on my two laptops. I have never bought for a popular concert before so was very nervous about those queues that looked to be doing nothing :pac:

Got seated tickets for Section GA1.

On the seating chart there are only Sections A to E. Does anyone know if this is section A or can someone advise?

    I think that's standing?

It says Section GA1, Row G7, Seats 2XX to 2XX

I had pre selected seated tickets as I will need seated tickets.

Pretty sure GA is general audience, it is standing, the seat row and number are just for them to keep track of numbers. It may have given you standing if there was no seated left.

    Ah jaysus!!

Was booking for an 11 year old. I'll need to get a swap now.

There is an age limit for GA isn't that correct?

    GA is definitely standing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 35 Irishgal2000

If it were seated it would say Block A, B, C, D or E.

    GA1 always is standing.

The numbers on there are for counting purposes.

I didn't hear of any age limits for GA, just general advice that parents with younger children should try to get seats.

TM screwing people over once again, seems they were telling you no seats were left and automatically gave you standing as "best available". I can get 2 seated ones right now.

More than likely they were in someone's basket at the time the poster bought her tickets and were released afterwards.

Possible, but to me it seems less than likely. It would mean every single seated ticket was in peoples baskets at the time. Then not bought, and then not bought even 2 hours later.

There are 6 different seats I listed before

here are another 12, all different, now nearly 3 hours later.

Really bad form by ticketmaster - queued this morning at ticketmaster outlet (aswell as trying online) - to be told only standing tickets available - Dub Sat night - all seated sold - ended up buying 4 standing - now to see seats freely available.

What annoys me is planning on bringing 2 young children and not exactly easy to resell (face value!) or cancel them.

I wonder how competition tickets work out with regards gaining admission. It would be fun to see Marian Finucane queuing up with some young wan who won a prize.

Just seen this now. I would be looking for a swap for seated but I got 3 which is an awkward number.

I checked with Ticketmaster and GA anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied with an adult

Competition tickets generally aren't bought (smaller companies might buy them more to give away but radio etc. are complimentary tickets for promotional purposes) so they will likely just get the winners name printed on the tickets, or they'll have no name on them.

That's true for standing and seating though.

There are people who have family and friends on many different devices trying to get tickets. It could happen where a few have seats and they just keep one lot and throw the rest back.

Then multiply that by thousands of people doing similar.

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,378 ✭✭✭✭rubadub

How would it benefit ticketmaster to do that?
because it ensures the less popular tickets can be offloaded first, so more likely to sell out overall. Same logic as offering wednesday tickets for sale before announcing saturday ones. You can be sure there are loads who bought wednesday tickets who would have wanted saturday -I expect a far higher percentage than if they were sold the other way around, i.e. if saturday were sold first I expect a lower % would be annoyed to later see wednesday ones on sale.

People are advised by ticketmaster themselves to get seats if you have kids, anyone I know going to this, or 3 arena or the croke park Ed gigs wanted seats as they were bringing kids. The more enthusiastic fans will be online right away and snap up whatever they can get in a panic.

Same tricks were going on with kings of leon, for that gig standing was seemingly more popular as I would expect. I tried for standing, offered seats way up the back instead. Way later in the day, and again days later I could have got standing, and also could have got far better seats.

another 4 different seats still available 4 hours on.

    Sec BLOCKD
    Row R, Seats 463-466

I find it very hard to believe they were all in peoples baskets. It's is not some crazy sinister plot, it's a pretty clever & sensible selling method -but do not like seeing them do it.

Just remembered I discovered the other day if you type 1 after www on ticketmaster buying pages, that it brings up a new format where you can select your tickets.

My house more or less backs onto the Pearse stadium in Salthill, so folk have been telling me that we might be able to get freebies because of the sound from the stadium, who do you apply to to try and get free tickets as residents?
