The same Siobhan Phelan SC noted in this extract also represented Angela Kerins in the High Court maintaining that the Dail Public Accounts Committee had an agenda to “go after” her.

    You mean like Team GB?
...who really have been the feel good team of this games.

Dude we know you like Britain/are from Britain or don't like Ireland or something but how about drop the obsession one thread. Yes GB did great at the olympics but most of them aren't insecure enough to come here and say that.

Joanne Cantwell on RTE is such a clueless person. Asks Jerry Kiernan 'should we be embarrassed as a nation' over his arrest then promptly derides him when he says the governance of sport is corrupt.

She didn't have a notion about the effects of testosterone and Caster Semenya and compared her to Michael Phelps and complained why we weren't asking questions of him and his large wingspan and double joints!

How is she allowed on air, I wonder?

If we could somehow link John Delaney to this it would be the icing on the cake. Delighted the corruption in Irish sports is getting some exposure. Complete but necessary embarrassment for the country.

She looks out of her depth presenting the Olympics. Needs to chill out or stick to the camogie coverage.

Ireland and Brazil in the Olympics:

2004: a defrocked Irish priest Neil Horan wrestles Brazilian marathon runner Vanderlei De Lima off the road, whle he was leading and on the way to a gold medal, he ended up getting bronze.

2004: Cian O'Connor wins a gold medal aboard the doped horse Waterford Crystal. While Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil got Silver, again an Irish person had interfered with a Brazilian win. Pessoa eventually got the gold medal but was denied of being able to celebrate it at the Olympics.

2016: Revenge is a dish best served cold.

She seems absolutely clueless. Definitely out of her depth with this. Although to be fair this is more of a current affairs issue as opposed to a sports issue.

I bet he's a bit more humble when he rings the consulate looking for assistance!

Oh Christ the craic answering that call! What I'd give to bug the line.

The usual ratline to Brazil here is not an option here it would seem.

He'll be facing the samba music and that is that.

That's exactly it. Everyone knows it goes on yet we just moan at home and do fcuk all about it. Not to derail but the water charges protests were the first bit of fight against corruption we know that exists from Irish people. Its endemic in our society.

Finally we are becoming more aware and less tolerant.
