Australia are a joy to watch in attack, it's so fluid

No imagination in their attack though. Passing to first receiver to crash it.

Nah it was the right call.

Mike Brown really is a little bollix.

Also missed his tackle dreadfully on Foley.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,775 ✭✭✭✭bilston

Correct decision, although Burrell was struggling anyway IMO

Don't think Burrell was getting near Foley.

  • Registered Users Posts: 841 ✭✭✭Journeyman_1

I'd give that try just for Burrell being an idiot. He has to try harder!

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,200 ✭✭✭✭Buer

It was obstruction but I don't think Burrell was in a position to get across. Regardless, the player changed his line to block Burrell and correct call made. The referee can't decide Burrell probably wasn't going to make the tackle and award the try. If there was a possibility he'd make it or even slow down Foley, he has to give the penalty.

You could have driven a bus through the gap though.

He could well have gotten a hand to him. Hard to say. It was foul play regardless.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,069 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

Looked liked Burrell initiated the contact not the other way around but can understand why it was deemed obstruction

Its Australian incompetence which has got England back into this

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,006 ✭✭✭Moflojo

The interesting thing about the disallowed Oz try, for me, is that it was intentional foul play to obstruct the England player. A similar type of intentional foul in defence would potentially warrant a yellow card, but I doubt a yellow card would even cross the referee's mind when an attacking player does it.
