I'd be interested to know which ones impressed you Buer.

Well, I'll qualify the statement by saying that I think Gatland (who I expect to be named Lions coach) will put more stock in someone performing in Eden Park in one test match than he will do in a player putting in an entire big domestic season.

Those who delivered today showed that they can go down there, 12 months out and not be intimidated by the prospect and are capable of going toe to toe with the best in their backyard.

There were a number of guys who were pretty much on the plane before today barring a massive loss of form or injury over the next year (Webb, Biggar, AWJ, Faletau and North).

Outside of them, Liam Williams is nailed on to travel now and has joined the above group, I reckon.

As a less expected selection, I would not rule out Gethin Jenkins getting a call again. I was surprised by his engine at his age. He gave a strong 65 minutes including a massive tackle, shooting out of the line well into the second half. He got around the park well and rolled back the clock. Gatland clearly has a huge amount of time for him and today will go some way to giving Gatland a reason to select him next year.

I think a couple of more peripheral guys put themselves in the picture. Ross Moriarty might well have moved into consideration to travel.

I'm also pretty sure Samson Lee is a traveller.

England had no answers there, they weren't close

Great start by Australia, some strong carries. England haven't got going.

Australia looking good here. Not putting many bodies into the breakdown though which is helping them play with that width and tempo. Can England take advantage of that as the game goes on?

Not going to be a good morning for the NH teams I fear

Ball travelled at least 5 metres forward from where it was passed and it gave the receiving player an unfair advantage over the chasing players. Good call from Barnes.

To be frank though, it shouldn't have even been up for debate as it was a 3-on-1 and Cruden didn't need to force it. A simple draw and pass puts NZ under the posts.

The two players were running at the same speed, cruden passed to tj and slowed up and was STILL ahead of tj when he caught the ball.

In no universe was that a forward pass !

Missed what happened at the scrum there and can't understand what Poite means most of the time. What was the call?

Watching how Cole was angling there we could have a messy day at scrum time.

England getting destroyed in the 13 channel

    This could be a hammering

This is great stuff from Australia, the whole team very comfortable with ball in hand.

Pre-engage I thought but I kinda missed the actual scrum!

Lovely try. Folaus time at Centre looks to have given him a spark!

It's Poite, I don't think he understands himself, nevermind expecting anyone else to understand!

Oz are playing a different game to England. Just like the All Blacks were to Wales.

Finally watched the AB's match delayed. Wayne Barnes. Forward passes. Urgh.

What was Farrell doing there? Just went for a wee saunter in defence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,067 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

England haven't been allowed to get going yet at all

Farrell isn't having the best evening so far

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,067 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

A good few moments there for England, Joseph looks a threat.
