This battery drain is a disaster.

On Nougat with mild use I was getting 2 days.

On Oreo with no use I'm getting down to 2% in 3 hours.

I really wish I could get back to Nougat.

Lesson learnt if I get another update, read the reviews before installing.

Considering a factory restore, I wonder would that help?

    Thanks.

Only issue I have had is Bluetooth with the car kit acting funny but a reboot clears it.
Re battery suggestion would be to reboot to recovery and wipe the cache.
Normally helps me after an update

    Did that thanks.

Maybe a new fix will come through soon as I know I'm not the only one.

These updates generally bring problems, there really needs to be an option to upgrade or not.

My phone had 33% battery last night and still powered down sometime during the night.

What I mean is simple way to revert to the old version once you realise there's problems.

When you check the battery statistics, what does it flag as the main consumer?

    Hey guys,
Just got the notification to update this morning. Since it seems to be a pretty major update (the "Updated Quick Settings" bullet point makes me nervous) I'm here to ask the same question I ask every time they release a big update: Can I still have an invert colours toggle switch in my quick settings? I've read a couple of people saying it's stopped working since the update, and more than anything else this is something I need, so wanna make sure before pulling the trigger...

Invert colours is still there on my Oreo OP3 anyway and it works, first time Ive ever tried it!

Don't do it if you're happy at the moment, my battery is dreadful now.

Did a factory restore and the battery issue has so far has calmed down.

Sad to loose the Google Now launcher, opted for the Apex launcher.

    Fingers crossed.

    Lesson learned re updates.

    Thanks.

Why not continue to use it?

My battery is better than ever . Funny that.

Maybe an app not compatible or stuck. Found sometimes that is the only way to sort it.

Edit: I see your reset the phone, hope that sorts it, you can get the old launcher back you know.

Since the update I'm getting notification beeps from the Android System because an app is draining my battery. I don't mind a notification for this, but how do I silence it?

Is the latest one the official update rather then a beta one?

latest one is indeed the Official Oreo update and not just Beta ;) but like previously stated if you're happy with how your OP3 works don't update now.

Also It's also advisable to always start clean (factory reset) and just transfer your data / pictures after a clean install to prevent any problems ;)

Anybody noticed their sound volume changing whenever they do certain other things on the phone since the new update?

Just tried it on my 3T after the update to 8.0 and it's there and works also.

i have never tried it either. It's a mad but cool effect. Is it primarily to aid with color recognition for some people or just a cosmetic effect? I had never heard of it before.

Also just to add everything sems fine with my 3T 9including battery) after update.

Much obliged to ye both. I'll probably hold off a few days for more reviews before updating. :)

I can only speak for myself, but I use it because I have impaired vision and eyes that are incredibly sensitive to light. Without inverting colours, find it extremely difficult to brows the internet, make calls, or basically use any app that has black text on a white background. Inverting to white text on a dark black background makes it infinitely better.

I've seen it touted before that using it prevents eye strain (say if you're reading Boards or Reddit in bed with the lights off, inverting avoids it avoids excessive glare).

Like, the reason I bought an OP3 in the first place was because I saw the Invert Colours option in a hands on review on YouTube. Most other phones require you to go into Settings > Accessibility to do it which, as you might imagine, is a pain in the arse. Being able to just swipe down and tap a button to do it has revolutionised my ability to use my phone.

Sorry, I tend to gush a bit when companies put a relatively simple accessibility feature in a device because I'm so used to companies not giving a sh*t. :o :P

IF you are having trouble with your battery life, give it a bit of time. I've noticed after 4-5 days mine is starting to settle back down again. Mobile standby is still eating too much of my batter but it is not as pronounced as before.

I hit major bluetooth problems with Beta 27 so rolled back to 24.

The tinkerman in me wants to try the latest one but bluettoth is a massive issue for me.

Troed once more with the OTA but still little or no Bluetooth signal plus I can't roll back no matter how I try, well pissed tbh.

My Bluetooth is completely disabled since the update too

Just tried installing open beta 27. Problem persists

Beta 24 is fine but I can't get back to it for some reason.

We are fooked then, big problems for me with a Garmin for cycling, back to manual uploads with newly purchased Bluetooth earphones wasted.

Funnily enough it's TrainerRoad app for cycling that seems to kill my Bluetooth straight away

Edit: rebooted in safe mode, Bluetooth appears to be working
