After spending an hour pondering whether I should do Vardy to Giroud I realise I can't afford it by a million quid.

Time to go to bed. Team stays as it.

Rumours flyin about the interweb of De Bruyne potentially being rested btw.

    Any links?

(not that I doubt you...just interested to see them!)

    Need some advice.

Need to choose 3 from Moreno, Alder, Bellerin and Sagna?

The last front 8 I had helped me bench Mahrez with his 15 point haul.

But I've decided to go for a strong front eight again, for the Christmas period. My hope is that any points I could lose by a wrong choice might be balanced out over rested players over a few gameweeks.

This only change to this will be Aguero, and how he gets on next week.

    Fail better

Its only rumour lads, based on quotes in the Express today. Will dig the quote out.

Edit....here it is. Suggests minutes will be managed coming into Xmas but no garauntee it'll be this weekend.

"Kevin has had a very good season up until now but he is one of the players who has been most exposed to fatigue. We always try to adapt the minutes to those players who have been forced to play a lot of minutes because of injuries to other players.

"At the moment he is coping well this season but we will assess when is best for him to rest to prevent any muscle injuries."

He was flagged by Pellegrini as fatigued and potential for injury and with a festive programme upcoming it isn't rocket science to assume he will get a rest pretty soon.

They have Arsenal after Swansea so quite likely he will be left out IMO.

I have those 4 plus Simpson. I have decided to go Moreno, alder & sagna - the 3 home fixtures. Bellerin is my first sub (with vardy my second sub.)*

*But I will probably bottle it before the deadline and change everything around.

    Aguero to Giroud is done.

I wanted Ramsey but my need to replace Sergio is greater.

It does not sit at all well with me but I'm a stickler for the obvious, safety first approach to the game....

    @iroced

    As for me. Team is
    Hennessey Myhill
    Kolarov Bellerin Bertie Souaré Simpson
    Ozil KDB Mahrez Deulofeu Wanyama
    Vardy Kane Lukaku

Was going for Myhill to DDG earlier on but missed DDG price rise and now with United injury list in defense I'm wondering if Alder could come in for one of Bertie/Kol/Bellie? Or if I should consider a 'Pool attacker?

    What do you guys think?[/QUOTE]

The Saints have a tough run over Xmas so for me Bertie (I have him0 is the pick of the defenders to go. (I have Toby but would put Rose forward as a cheaper alternative also.) However I would upgrade Wanyama to cover rotation in your Fr8. I got in Bolaise and Coleman for -4 this week for Moses and Gabriel. Don't know what your willing to spend but Kouyate and Morrison could be considered along with the usual suspects.
Could also recommend carrying the FT like my advice to you last week re. Kun but we know how that worked out.

Personally I'd be benching Alli. I think 3 spurs is a bit much, especially if you are considering captaining Kane.

Thanks, that's what I'm thinking, try spread the risk a bit, with 2 Leicester , 2 spurs (although if Dier doesn't play I'll hvae 3 Leicester (Simpson, Vardez and Kane (C).

Don't you have another candidate for the bench :p?

Don't really have another option to bench, Mata maybe (but I want to play him one more time before I sell him :o ) the rest of my attack are KDB, Ozil, Lukaku. Don't fancy benching any of them.

I think your team is fine for the weekend and banking a transfer could be helpful over Xmas period.

I'm presuming you starting line up is as listed
    Hennessy
    then 3-4-3?
    Kolarov Bellerin Bertie
    Ozil KDB Mahrez Deulofeu
    Vardy Kane Lukaku

I quite like the Saints-Palace (Hennessy-Bertrand) combo option cover both defences. I can see a clean sheet either way and maybe a 0-0. As El-Tel said saints run not the best but would hope Koeman sets out to tighten up and Bertrand is always a threat going forward.

I've had Dier for weeks and his lack of clean sheets is very annoying,
Toby has been getting attacking returns but will that last?
Moreno/Clyne could be an option here as wing backs to slightly cover Liverpools attack? again wouldn't be expecting many clean sheets from them though.

Can't find fault with rest of the team.

    unless

    1. you want to change Deulofeu for Barkley or a Pool or Spurs MF.

    Or

    2. upgrade Wayanama to give yourself a selection headache over Xmas?

    Neither change needed really though.

I'm in the same situation and will do Aguero to Kane rather than Mane to Ramsey. I really want to get in Ramsey and captain him just to have a big smug face when I see my friends in my league the next time :D Safety first is the right call as you say! I better not get hammered by Kane captains and join the party!

They're not playing again for 9 days though!

Bench Butland or Cech? Anytime I bench Butland he does wonders and Arsenal can never keep a clean sheet but Arsenal surely can keep a clean sheet at Villa? I've also benched Zouma over Dawson after a bit of pandering, I doubt either will get more than 1 or 2 points though.

Yeah I didn't mention it but carrying my FT over did cross my mind.
Alder rising could make me hurry that one up since he'd be in theory there ling-term.

I'm also seriously considering Bellerin out. He's using a lot of money for no big returns... if it was not for Bournemouth & Newcastle at home for GW19 & 20, I'd get rid tonight.

Yeah that"s my 3-4-3 with Souaré first sub in case KDB doesn't feature at all.

I have my two eyes on Coutinho and if he didn't get injured he'd be there for Deulofeu.
In terms of strong front 8, I may give in to Alli for Wanyama but not now (unless there are more pressing rumours re KDB benched).

Got in Kane for Costa early. Strongly considering Sterling in for Mane for -4. Good chance Sterling will start up front against a vulnerable Swansea

    Edit: DONE
