Nice little quick and easy rainfall radar which has better coverage of the NW.

This rain seems wetter thn normal

Not like that dry rain last week

I really wonder if I get a wetter than normal December by Sunday already. I am at 53% of the LTA (full month of December's rainfall total) from the rain of yesterday.

Desmond ? What a stupid name for a storm.

Other planned future names for storms from the UK met office :

    Nigel, Henry, Steve.

Maybe they are saving these names for the wet ones.

We're clearly enticing these storms by naming them.

Did you submit any names during the public consultation period for when the storm names were chosen?

I did but it wasn't picked, not even an acknowledgement

We'll if they are that stupid, then I may as well take the piss out of their system as well, and submit a vote for "Keith"

    5.0mm Ardfert since 18.00

Modest beginnings but continuing for 30 hours approx should give a fair amount.

There will be some run off from the mountains....

Good to be living on high ground in very wet times.

That said, this year has been drier than normal in the south east, my location: 280mm less rainfall than last year so far and down 100mm on previous year- but maybe it will be a very wet month.

    1.6 mm so far.

I am in the southeast and at 108% of the LTA

looks to be easing for a little while
I've been watching predictive runs etc for 2 days
that run of really heavy rain across the centre was not on them......heaviest rain had been kept across west/Northwest .........

Don't worry, enough of it is coming for all, by all accounts, ME indicated at least 50 to 75 mm between now and sat night.
