Does anyone know if Minecraft Pocket Edition works on the ShieldTV?

Can only find conflicting information online, some saying it works natively, some saying it works but needs to be sideloaded and others saying it doesn't work at all!

I painstaking managed to repair an Ethernet cable so my gamestream is working amazingly well for me. Any one with issue playing over Wi-Fi, even if you are using an 802.11ac router, if you have issue try ethernet.

My PC is connected to a QHD monitor, should I lower the resolution to 1980 games before gamestream, or leave alone?

I just ordered another Shield Pro and the remote. I discovered this morning I can use my TV remote but it seems a bit slow to respond, which I read on Nvidia's forums is normal.

The Nvidia store have a deal on at the moment until May 8, the Shield and Shield Pro come with a second game controller at no extra charge. They allowed me select Ireland for delivery, but at the final part of the order they said I would have to remove everything from it.

I am having it delivered to Parcel Motel instead, and I think paying in Sterling is around €30 cheaper anyway. All in it was £259.98 / €342.39 EUR

This really is great news tbf.

Yes I can use other means to sort, glam up, access my media but....

adding the PLEX server functionality into the next OS update really does elevate the Nvidia Shield TV into another stratosphere when it comes to value for money.

(ps) Don't get hung up on Nvidia pushing the 'pro' label. The standard version of the Nvidia Shield is the exact same with the storage size being the only difference and will handle everything that is promised with this PLEX Update.

Any idea when this update is due to be released?

Absolutely love my Shield TV and this extra functionality makes it all the better.

Just got mine direct from Nvidia because they're giving a free remote, shipped via parcel motel, the return address is Digital River Ireland LTD, Shannon. Why won't they ship from Ireland to Ireland?!? Also they shipped my remote separately so I'm gonna have to fork out for two parcel motel stays!

Just a quick note that price includes a controller but not remote which is an additional £40.

True that, but it's still a great bargain at that price.Hands down one of the best multitasking Android devices on the market.

    How much is the remote?

Been eyeing one of these for ages and assume I won't get a better price?

Can you put in a sd card?

This info is available everywhere.....yes you can expand the internal storage with external and you can use SD Cards/USB 3.0 HDD's/Portable SSD's.

Now I'll leave you look up the price of the remote yourself;) This is deffo worth the £99 asking price.

Kodi can be downloaded and installed from Google Play on the Shield. Runs like a dream on it.

Install SPMC for it instead of Kodi or you can have both. But SPMC is being developed on Shield devices and has more current Android support.
Seeing that the Dev Koying, was one of the main Android dev's for Kodi.
All stuff can be sideloaded easily using a file manager like es explorer.I also recommend installing sideload launcher too.
This will give the Apps that don't install to the main screen a drawer on the main screen...for easy access to all those apps.
The last poster mentioned Wizards(not to be discussed here),but I really recommend setting up Kodi or SPMC yourself. It's the only way to get to grips with it.
Those builds are often filled with rubbish and have nothing but conflicts and issues.

    I bought mine from Amazon.de for 199.99.
Have yet to actually fire up grid but as a kodi box, it is exceptional!
The ir receiver makes it a fantastic media centre addition I'm.

I have checked amazon.de and free and neither ship to ireland. Am I doing something wrong? ?

They may have changed their shipping policy since I made that post last November. That said mailbox.de is always an option.

On a side note, is there a new version due? I ask as stock seems to have gotten tight everywhere and prices are gone up again.

They're sold out most places. I've read some places like Scan are showing stock around 9th Sept.

I've seen Nvida have submitted FCC approval requests for a new controller and with the current stock shortage it would seem as if it may clearing old stock for a new SKU release. Just my thoughts at least.

Yes Nougat will be coming to the Shield. They(Nvidia) stated it a few times on various forms of media.Might just take a couple of months,to tailor it to the Shield.
But it will bring some nice Android TV Functions especially for the likes of USB Tuners and PVR/DVR.
