In a discussion like this it's fine, it's usually accurate enough.
For factual purposes though you should look elsewhere.

I know from a Farming perspective, Mar/April/May always seem to be very dry - last few years anyway. Those are the months when you actually do want lots of rain!

Not May! I have had every May wetter than normal (except 2013) since 2011. May 2015 was the most horrible of them all!

Fairly persistent rain the last 30mins. Temp reached 2.9c and now up to 3.8c.
If it does freeze tonight the roads will be lethal tomorrow.

    West Clare.

Yeah, was strange to hear the pitter patter so unexpectedly. Temp down to 2.3c now and skies clear again.

Met Eireanns rainfall radar at SNN seems to be down since around 4pm yesterday.

    Its February not June ffs!

Feb is one of the drier months of the year in east Galway on average, and is only marginally wetter than June (by less that 10mm) so it is reasonable to expect a fair few dry days in February.

I was luckier than KM9, I scraped 2 full dry days this week, but once again it pissed rain for a good part the afternoon today; the roads and pavements, which had dried up nicely in the last couple of days sunshine, are now back to square one, so if it freezes later, it will make for treacherous driving and walking conditions yet again.

Back to northwesterly winds after Monday - something that 2015 was so known for

The one FI chart all winter that will probably come true :) Just a little too late for most of our liking :)

And it looks like now it won't... as we will get a northwesterly

Yes. I think we can safely say goodbye to the chances of disruptive snowfall and a deep freeze at this stage. Next winter will be great, though.

Hopefully!! My prediction is for another crap Winter though sorry according to ongoing patterns, something like Winter 2004 / 05 I think or 1999 / 00 or even another 1989 / 90 (very similar to the one just gone).

Blissfully dry and calm and bright night up here. South Kerry mountains 400 asl. Lovely not to have water seeping under doors etc. And moving is easier. We are to a great extent dominated and controlled by the weather are we not? Usually not even noticing; it affects all we do from getting dressed onwards...our moods, our occupations .Looks to be another dry sunny clear and still day here.. Cold though ;)

Current temp is 0.2c here in West Clare, rising slowly due to a weak cloud blocking the sun somewhat. Min overnight was only -0.4c (got down to -0.7c before midnight) which has lead to a rather inconsistent frost but that's to the rain late last night there's a lot of Ice around allowing the tops of fences and roofs to be painted a very bright shade of white. Black Ice is almost definitely going to be a problem on the roads this morning.

A veil of cloud moved in here last night keeping the temp to zero before rising again; currently calm, dull and 2.5C.

Been dry since Sunday, which is the longest dry spell this month.

A few showers to keep the grass watered. Don't want lots of rain letting the cattle out.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Quite a sleety hail shower in off the Irish sea just now here near Arklow

Rain here in West Clare very heavy and sleety at times since 1pm. Been persistent since and down look to end soon. Don't have an exact temperature reading but I'd estimate 4-5c.
    Might be Snow on hills.
