Maybe there's a loose connection? have you tried unplugging and plugging back in the module under both seats? Or disconnect the battery for about a half hour and reconnect if it's just a glitch it might reset itself by doing this.

Would've been heading into 4th. I was probably going to defer it anyway as I don't think I have the mindset right now for 4th year anyway. The way it's worked out means I can sort out a project car like I've wanted for a while and also prepare properly for 4th year and get a project idea nailed down.

I deferred my final year for those reasons too and it was the best decision I ever made. If you're deferring fully, my advice is to do some travel and leave off the extra car until you're raking it in!

Thanks for reply. The owner has disconnected battery a few times and has also took it to a garage where they took off steering wheel and checked modules under seat.

It's unusual most airbag fault whether it be an igniter or sensor or wire related show up by a scan, but on this it shows no faults.

The airbag light also keeps flashi g which if there was an airbag problem it should just stay on.

Also unusual is that when you turn the car on theres no airbag light for about 20 seconds, then it comes on continuously flashing.

I honestly have yet to sit in an early 2000's vw that hasn't got the airbag light on! Must be a common flaw.

    Weird that it's flashing though...?

Is the airbag relay or fuse shared with anything else that could be bringing it down?

It's 40 years since the unveiling of the mk1 golf gti at the Frankfurt motor show.

Hahahahaha theres a pair of nosey crows having a calling fit outside. Most ridiculous thing I've heard all week :D Oh pigeons and crows never fail to produce entertainment :D:D:D

Car related, the C180 is averaging 38mpg on a mixed cycle of driving (rural/motorway/rush hour city/main roads). Quite happy with the result :) not so happy with the €100 petrol bill though....!

It's not a defer but a repeat but because it'll only be one or two that I think will be exam only I'll have most of the year off, I would've deferred if I had passed anyway as my head(and heart) just isn't in it right now to be honest!

Bit of an unusual one but was going through a drive thru this afternoon after driving 150km mainly motorway so the car was well heated up running for over 2 hours but my issue was I could hear this low noise with radio off sounds like a bearing starting to go in water pump / alternator / power steering pump that kind of a noise now very slight but you could hear it. Now issue is I haven't heard it before that or since going through the drive thru was driving this evening and couldn't hear it at all despite popping the bonnet to listen. So I'm hoping it was coming from the car in front or behind me but it really sounded like it was coming from my engine. 300km of a trip to do tomorrow so I suppose I'll just have to listen out hopefully the noise won't come back I could do without car issues at the moment.

You sure it wasn't just radiator fan?

No I don't think it was. But I suppose it's possible anyway. It didn't sound particularly rough but didn't sound normal either but maybe it was the fan. Tbh I have the radio on 95% of the time and hear nothing not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

The M1 was diabolical in the rain this evening, couldn't see 30 metres in front, scary stuff. For once most people pulled into the driving lane it got so bad, hit the fog lights and slowed down.

Indeed. Similar enough on the N7 except slower speeds. Some girl decided she'll drive her Celica on the hard shoulder at 60 km/h. Dunno what she was thinking!

Trying to find a new set of wheels, proving hard to decide on any, has anyone got any ideas bar Style 37 M-Pars?

Was on it between airside and coolock around 6, nearly missed the exit since i could hardly read the signs. but you're right i didn't see anybody in the overtaking lane once. most sensible people we're going about 80kph.

Hard to beat M pars on the E39, but maybe style 65s might appeal?

It really is! While M-Pars are ideal they're just not available, which is leading me to look at others but the E39 favours dished wheels so that's what I realistically want to go for.
