    TLDR

Yep it sounds like you are uninterested and she turned out to be a little bit "lay there and take it" kind of girl :D

The Celica is annoying the heart and soul out of me, it runs good, i just have zero trust or faith in it. it's been fine around town since the engine swap in June but now i'm driving Wicklow to Waterford or Cork most days i just can't relax in it and put my trust in it. so so tempted to sell it.

it's due tax this month and test in January so it's essentially worthless, but i'm wondering would i be happier in something else. every time a mk1 Audi TT passes me, i feel like i bought the wrong car. would a TT be just as unreliable. then i wonder can i sustain this gigantic mileage in a "quick" petrol anyway.

i see the Celica as a girl i have always fancied, that i am finally going out with. We get along perfectly, but one night she cheated on me and i found out. We still get along great and i have told her i will forgive and forget, but deep down i can never trust her again and it's eating away at me, ruining the man - car relationship.

Sounds very like me and the focus a few years ago it fcuked me over a few times and I had zero trust in it even though I had sorted the problem I just always felt on edge in it. At the end of the day life too short to have a car like that you have more important things to worry about in life than wondering every trip will the car make it. I have a fairly strict 3 strike policy with cars now.

Or you might regret not giving her another chance and she'll be the one that got away ;)

No second chances with cars. Or are you talking about the girl :pac:

Easy to get an almost identical one in a few years if he so wishes. The only thing is if you are going to get very low money for it is it worth selling.

i'm sure the next owner would love it. thousands of euros of preventative maintenance has been pumped into it :pac: if you didn't know its dirty past it'd be a super enjoyable car :P.

Was just out for a run there at 9pm and some f***ker deliberately tried to run me over, steered right towards me and made me hop into the ditch. I looked back in disbelief and he did the same thing to two more people out for a walk, again with flourescent vests on. Raging here, only got the WX from the reg.

Did you see threads on biker and cyclist websites about some looper trying to take bikers/cyclists out up the wicklow mountains?

Sounds like he has a fanclub?!

D reg seat leon on the wicklow gap. Not one of your cultural ambassador culprits if I'm picking up the reference right?

The seat driver was someone who should have had their keys taken off them by a responsible non mental adult by the sounds of it.

So wrecked tired, first day back is always a killer!

Driving this morning, a 132 audi a7 comes up behind me, passes me by, juts in infront of me because of oncoming traffic, then does the same manoeuvre again. Third attempt as he goes to overtake a lorry he does so, but only a couple of hundred metres from a level crossing which was flashing and barriers down. Said audi has to lock on the brakes, but obviously after completing the essential overtake of the lorry.... It's times like these that I wish I had a dash cam!

On the way home.. Was out go karting with work colleges, in my new jobby. On the way home any way the car in front speeds wobbles a few times. Out onto the other side of the road and all. Blowing the horn mad at the bus in front and a loud long beeeeep as it over takes the bus.

I then come up behind the bus and it turned out that the bus was full off students heading out and the were actually trowing there empty beer bottles out the window with such force that the bottles were smashing one the road.

Am I a bit odd, or does anyone else think it feels a bit 'scraping the barrel' that boards are promoting an online casino to it's members?

I know there's a gambling forum, and most people on here will be over 18 anyway, and probably do their own bets in a bookies or online or such, but I just think it seems a bit out of place that they're pushing gambling on people?

I hear that. The older I get the more I seem to completely ignore or simply walk away from things and people that irritate me or try to sell me stupid crap. Just like the Stig! :D

I have adblock, this is a thread announcement thingy on the main page. Part of the boards site itself.

Life's too short to have a diesel too chap...!

I wish I could afford to have a three strike policy with cars.... Howandever I don't, so when faults crop up, I get em fixed and drive it on, saves me losing thousands in depreciation too...;)

A Toyota Yaris 99 with 138000 miles on the clock!? Is that a lot of miles on a 1l?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,719 ✭✭✭Hal1

Sounds about right given the year. Now I wonder how many owners it had...

It's not a lot of miles for any sort of engine.
