Literally just started Tarkov a few days ago. Well I tried it few years back but couldn't get over the initial difficulty and their business model is horrendous. I'm gonna try stick with it this time.
    Hasn't changed since?

Same core game. Few new maps. New hideout system allowing me to upgrade my stash amongst other things.

Customs is a tough map to start on, but its a bit of a catch 22 as its where most of the early quests are

I would advise you to do offline Raids with your PMC on Customs a few times to get used to Scav spawn points and exfil positions and to get comfortable with your chosen weapon / game mechanics, also use a Map on a second screen until you know the Exfils without thinking about it

use your Scav as much as possible, Interchange is a great Scav map to get some nice goodies for your PMC

I played a bit of off-line, well, not really played, just died to army of scavs lol. Funny enough I can't find any living scavs to kill in live server for task.
Managed to reach level 5, finally... Still haven't completed first two tasks thought.

As you said, I use scav runs as soon as they pop, really great for money. Even if you manage to get out with what they wear.
Trying to get that task done where I can buy aku. From what I gathered from guides it's a decent starting weapon.

Just had a really ass clenching run. Went in with my budget noob aku set and found AKM 103 in a box. Looted a few things and sow player running at me and by share luck I head shoted the poor bastard. He had some good stuff on him.
When I almost reached ZB01 extraction point someone started peppering me! I ran like crazy to exit!
I know, it does not sound as glorious as it felt to me, but my heart rate was up to feck! :D

Nothing like that puckered arse feeling in EFT :pac: no other game can manage that for me

Don't stress to much with the missions yet, lots of time to get to those, I didnt start my quests until level 20ish

now you are level 5 and have access to the Flea market buy yourself a AK74m and a PK-06 red dot with at least BP ammo, its a decent starter gun around 25k for the basic gun

or else a Vepr Hunter which can be bought for 30k and a dovetail mount / sight with m61 ammo (everyone fears the Vepr hunter)

Just finished up with rage 2. I really enjoyed it to be fair. I think its time I picked up Red Dead 2. Never played it and need something to get stuck into for Christmas. Is there much content in it?

Just bought Ghost Recon Wildlands. I figured for 20 bucks it would be worth a punt, big patch coming out for it in Jan and there's coop and PvP.

Ive played it as well with i5-2500k CPU, no issues.

If you have xbox game pass give Rage 2 a try, im really enjoying it at the moment. Very very decent game.

Yup no probs with the 15-2500k. Very very odd bit of stuttering in the scripted events. But yeah its a bit of fun !

I was always more of a WW2 fan but this has led me to watch some documentarys on WW1. My grandfather who died before I was born fought in the Battle of the Somme, was mustard gassed but survived and went on to be a Guard back home. This game has me wanting to learn more about WW1, the political origins, the armies/weapons/tactics etc. and have being watching such on youtube. Battle of the Somme youtube docu is great in a heartbreaking way.

I've just started the plane campaign after doing the tank mission.

Anything worth picking up on the Epic Store sale?

Edit: probably going to get Star Wars but the extra €10 voucher is a nice bonus.

Tesla Effect is about €26, so thats down to €16 with the voucher. Meant to be a nice chillout game.

Tempted by The Outer Worlds for €35.

Is The Division 2 worth getting on the Epic Store? Less than a tenner with the coupon

    I would say no.

I got it for free. It just devolves into a chase the numbers game. Nothing matters just higher numbers.

Bonkers, that's a lot of game for the cash. You will sink easily a hundred hours or more into this game. Graphics are top notch, plenty to do, very Michael Bay action.

Started the Darkness II tonight. It's pretty good. I have vague memories of playing the first on the Xbox 360 years ago. Was just going through my steam library and seen it was already downloaded so said I may as well play it, turns out that was a good move. Interesting concept with the
mental hospital. I wonder is it all in his head or is the darkness controlling him.
    Mad game.

Just starting Hellblade on Game Pass after seeing the trailer for the sequel

Hellblade was fantastic. One of the best games I've played from a storytelling point of view. The combat was strong and the puzzles were decent without being too punishing.

However, I had a false start with it, I played it for an hour and just couldn't get into it so I gave up. Something about it though stayed with me so I went back to it months later and beat it in a few sessions. You definitely have to be in the right frame of mind, as it's more like a movie than a game.

Beat the Tinanfall single player campaign over the Christmas. What an excellent first player game. I've no interested whatsoever in the multiplayer so onto my next game - Metro Exodus. Just firing it up now, hope my Nvidea GTX 750 TI holds up.

God a 750TI must be seriously struggling now a days. Any plans for a GPU upgrade down the line?

Still holds out on high settings for me in most games.

I ascended to super ultrawide gaming over Christmas with a 5120x1440 Samsung Monitor and an RTX2070 Super to match.

Doom at 120fps in 5210x1440 has been the game of choice for the last week.

Really? Even with only 2GB? My uncle has a 970 and he was saying last week that he can see it it struggling in new games now.

Honestly, as of yet I haven't had any game breaking issues. It's only a 2GB card, and the PC itself has an i5 3350P and 16GB of RAM. I only play on 1080p and to my continued surprise I have been able to play almost everything on high. The whole system is about 6 years old now. The only upgrade I've made is to install SSD drives which make a huge difference in loading times.

I am playing Metro Exodus on high at the moment, with a scale factor of 0.9x and a few advanced features disabled (such as hairworks).

It's totally playable and looks pretty decent. However it did struggle on scale factor of 1x with tessellation enabled.

The main thing for me is to disable Depth of Field and Motion blur on everything I play, which is fine by me as I dislike those effects anyway.

I'll probably have to buy a new one in the next year or so (alongside a whole new gaming PC). I have definitely gotten my moneys worth out of the good old 750 TI!

I have not yet experienced 4k gaming and not sure I am interested until it becomes cheaper, from what I've seen it seems like going from 1080 to 4k has greatly diminishing returns. I'm still good with 1080P for now.

I've an RTX2060 but only play at 1080. Will be getting a 1440 screen at some stage this year.

I've been very happy with it so far but if I was buying now I'd have got the 2060 Super or the 5700 or the XT version.

Currently playing through a Plague tale, saw it on Origin access which i sub'd to, to play Jedi fallen order, so nice extra bonus.

Just about to finish it me thinks, its a sneak and distract game mostly. Think of the last of us without guns, good story and tense at times, but very very grim, so that might put people off.

I cant actually think of anything bad to say about it, other than its kinda short, so highly recommend if you can get it for a good price or just sub to origin like i did :)
