I think the botw amiibos were listed on amazon for march after e3 and it was presumed a march release for the game was due then too, really tho unless they ran into more problems with botw after e3 you would think it would be ready for a switch launch seeing as it was delayed especially for the switch.

Does that go for the Wii U version too I wonder?

EA BRINGING 'ONE OF OUR BIGGER GAMES' TO NINTENDO SWITCH

    "It's an interesting device."

EA is looking to launch one or two games for Nintendo Switch, and it sounds like they'll be from very familiar franchises.

GameSpot reports that EA CFO Blake Jorgensen mentioned one of those games will be a notable port from the company while speaking at the UBS Global Technology Conference. "We haven't yet announced what game, but you should assume that it's one of our bigger games," he said. "We're excited for Nintendo."

But Jorgensen is still cautious about Nintendo Switch's appeal. "It's an interesting device," he said. "But I can't yet predict how broad it's going to be.

"Will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have today?"

EA hasn't released a Wii U game in years, and the company's 3DS support seemingly ended with FIFA 15.

EA was unveiled as a Nintendo Switch partner last month and congratulated the Big N on the console's reveal. And the publisher has a plethora of games and franchises that could come to Switch, like Battlefield, Mass Effect and Madden.

Not sure. If the Wii-U version is still going to launch in March then it's going to be a bit awkward - hey check out our awesome new console out this month, no sorry our awesome new Zelda game is only available for our old console. Maybe they won't promote the Switch version too much if it's going to be seriously late and I wonder what will be playable on Switch early Jan so.

Yeah that would be a strange move alright. This makes me sad! At least there'll be Mario, I guess!

They won't release the U version of BOTW before the Switch version. If anything, the U version will come after the Switch one.

Of course its FIFA, I highly doubt the Switch can run the likes of BF1 or ME:A. Sure we had FIFA 17 out on the PS3 and 360 two months ago, and unless there is a huge surge in sales of the current gens I can anticipate FIFA 18 landing on them too. Not too much of a stretch to port these versions to Switch.

From an interview with Brjann Sigurgeirsson, CEO of Image & Form (the studio behind SteamWorld Dig and SteamWorld Heist).
He said that right now the most exciting thing about the Switch is how "they haven't really mentioned everything"

Nintendo Switch will have Mario and Skyrim at launch – report

Nintendo Switch will launch with an all new Mario title and Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, according to yet another report by Let’s Play Video Games.

The independent website has heard from two different sources that both games will be available for Nintendo’s new console when it launches in March 2017.

The mysterious new Mario title, which remains unnamed, will feature a 3D open world hub much like Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. Players can select from a range of different levels and worlds as they progress.

According to LPVG, it will also feature co-operative multiplayer where both players work together towards the same objective, tethered together so they don’t get split up. At the end of each stage you’ll be able to see how much each character contributed to your success.

LPVG reports that Nintendo has a build of this ready for press to play in January 2017.

In addition, it also writes that an enhanced version of Wii U exclusive Splatoon will act as a pack-in for the system to take advantage of its focus on multiplayer.

This version of the colourful online shooter will feature an all new 1v1 mode where players on two separate consoles can duke it out on a single map.

Nintendo also has plans to support the Switch iteration of Splatoon with new single-player content and regular updates, much like the Wii U release.

Bethesda is yet to acknowledge the existence of Skyrim: Special Edition on Switch, but it appears it will launch alongside the console with limited mod-support to follow shortly after.

Rumor: Mario Kart for Switch brings a mix of old and new.

Disclaimer: Everything in this blog post is rumor until proven otherwise.  Please take everything with a grain of salt.

The Switch version of Mario Kart 8 will contain all of the previous Wii U content (tracks, characters) plus all of the Wii U DLC. This shouldn’t come as a surprise since the three minute Switch teaser showed two players racing through one of Mario Kart 8’s DLC tracks — GCN Yoshi Circuit. For those 3DS owners who skipped out on the Wii U, the Switch version of Mario Kart 8 should be a very tempting offer.

But why should Wii U owners care?

According to sources close to Nintendo, the Switch version of Mario Kart 8 will feature tons of exclusive content including brand new tracks, new playable characters, and a new-and-improved battle mode. That’s right, Nintendo listened to everyone’s criticisms about Mario Kart 8’s battle mode.

Mario Kart has completed development, and it’s planned to be released within the first three months of Switch’s launch.

New and improved battle mode? Surely they mean an HD version of the double dash battle stuff?

So either a Sun/Moon port/The third game in that series, Pokken, or some sort of mystery dungeon game.

And I suppose Smash in there as well. Just Nintendo stuff listed, since we know there are some third party games.

Wonder if she misunderstood the New IP mention, though we have heard about new IPs coming from the Garage initiative. But since she also said the new Retro game and that's also rumoured to be a new IP.

I think they're doing a lot of stuff right so far. January will be interesting.

While it's a strong lineup I'm kinda confused that games like Mario Kart & Smash Bros which get one title every console are apparently ports of rarely said successful WiiU games.
The supposed Zelda delay is a kick in the nuts tho. It was meant to be out last year & has been pushed to the point of pissing all over WiiU owners.

And Splatoon, that just seems like a port/upgrade.

Plus Zelda will be on the Wii U.

To be honest there is very little pushing me from my Wii U. I'd be more inclined to pick up a PS4 or XB1 instead.

    She's talking rubbish.

I can't stand Pokemon so that's booted out the window for me. Pikmin 4 was a Wii U game that was practically finished which we were deprived of. Retro Studios while great are slower than snails. They made 1 game for Wii U. 2 original games on Wii and 2 games on Gamecube. 5 games in over about 16 years. Sure there were ports, compilations, a few handheld games helped out a bit on other games but they're certainly not prolific. And I don't think they've the same level of talent as when they made Metroid Prime.

Zelda will be great, but as said is also on Wii U. Mario I hope isn't another 3D World. Galaxy or SM64 style please. New IP, could be great, could be meh. Relying on ports isn't great and I don't want to be spending €60 each on slight upgrades. I hope Nintendo have a solution for us Wii U owners. I said it elsewhere that they could patch the games and play online across Wii U and Switch. They don't look technically superior and Switch to me is just an evolved Wii U.

Last point. I don't believe Nintendo pushed Zelda: BOTW all this time and so heavily for it not to have been planned as a Switch launch title. Look at the upcoming Zelda: BOTW amiibo, they're down for March next year. If Zelda's delayed then that's a big blunder before we even launch. Has the Mario game been compromised for that now instead to be the major launch game?

Yeah, I don't like agreeing with Sligeach, because it's only our polarically-opposed outlooks that stops us from fusing to become MechaNintendon and laying waste the Xboxverse, but that list has pissed out the hype fire for me. I own all the ports. I haven't finished the current Mario or Pikmin. And Zelda is delayed. Moon and Sun aren't even out yet so I can't get hyped up for an undisclosed future Poképroject. New IP? For every Splatoon theres a Project Steam. Or worse - Project Giant Robot!

(Project Steam was grand - don't get me wrong. But I wouldn't be spending 3-400 quid on hardware to play a grand game that couldn't hold my attention when I bought it for 5 quid, if you take my meaning)

The rot is setting in, and the release schedule for the short to medium term is moribund. We need some pizzazz, some razzle dazzle and maybe some amazing AAA exclusive 3rd party game that'll be released on Switch next year but with an incredible proof-of-concept prequel/port coming to WiiU in time for christmas. #BeyondGoodandWiivil #Believe

Ah here I want a game of the level of Galaxy or 64 again, I don't want another Stale "New" Super Mario Bros for about 10 years and Sunshine is massively overrated by the people who liked it.
Oh you said you wanted Galaxy and 64 not World which was great imo on handheld less so WiiU

Well the rumour goes they faced a lot more problems in the final bug testing of Zelda: BoTW and might have to add 4-6 months onto the estimated release date.

Rumours of the 3D Mario game are its similar to 64/Sunshine/Galaxy with large worlds with multiple stars available at any time to collect. You also gather collectibles and use them in the hub to unlock extra items in the other worlds, there are outlines of boxes that fill in after unlocking the item inside (a metal cap that lets you sink similar to the Metal Mario in 64 was mentioned). Also interconnectivity in maps, Banjo-Kazooie also name checked in this info. Could have been Emily Rogers who posted it, but it does sound exactly like what I am wanting in a new 3D Mario :D

Its hard not to feel a bit screwed over being a wii u owner waiting for zelda, the 3D mario game sounds like a decent enough cover for botw but meh, i would have been more pumped for zelda switch launch. Hopefully jan 12 or 13 will clear up this launch titles confusion. ideally something sooner.

Eurogamer have confirmed the rumors by saying, "we'll have a new Nintendo Switch report on Eurogamer tomorrow."

I was thinking that the Eurogamer story could have something to do with what GameXplain mentioned in the video above. They say there's a rumour about a game that sites are aware of but nobody's reporting it because they say things like it's "bonkers" and "unbelievably weird". Heard it from 3 different people and still can't believe it and haven't said what it is because they'd hate to tease people and for it not to be true. The clip is from 34:15 to 35 minutes.

For it to be "unbelievably weird", it would have to be something like a Halo or Uncharted.
