Must pick that TPHD pack up soon.
I already have it on both Wii and GC, but the completist in me needs it.
Only a matter of time, surely, before Skyward Sword gets a similar remaster, it must be the only 3D Legend of Zelda title now that hasn't had an update. Fingers crossed that when they do, they remove the good awful motion controls.

Did someone mention Skyward Sword? :D

I agree the whole game was God awful. Apart from the controls. Although even they had to be infinitely recalibrated.

They'd have to either re-engineer how a lot of the game worked, or translate the sword movements to the 2nd stick or something, which would probably be terrible...

For what it's worth, I loved Skyward Sword. Felt like it was steeped in the LoZ lore, and setting up lots of things that were in the other games, and with loads of nods to the other games everywhere.

Think Skyward Sword was the last game that had my heart racing, that wasn't due to being down to my last bit of health. Those Silent Realm bits were intense.

I like skyward sword, and hate the controls! Still not in any way a bad game though.

I'd much rather see a 3D remake of Links Awakening. Though that might pose some problems. It really was a masterpiece and hard to believe it ran on the Gameboy.

On the other hand, I just cannot believe people don't see all that was wrong with Skyward Sword. The list is near endless.

Loved those silent realm bits as well, im not a nervous gamer most of the time but some of that was pretty on top of you alright.

This Skyward Sword thing comes up every few months for some reason, I really like the game and would gladly see a HD version in the future.

    I don't understand this point.

Links Awakening DX is enough for me, a mild 3D update might be nice but the DC game takes a great game and makes it better.

More than likely a placeholder or just erroneous information but good to keep the Switch rumours going until 12 Jan :pac:

Toys R'Us Canada have a price for the Switch up on their website $329 Canadian Dollars which is about €225. That seems a bit low so probably not an accurate guideline.

Sure don't they always use a bs 1 to 1 exchange rate so that would still be €329 over here.

Report: UK Retailer GAME to Price Nintendo Switch from £199.99

    http://letsplayvideogames.com/2016/11/report-uk-retailer-game-to-price-nintendo-switch-from-199-99/

That's about €230 but yes for us Irish it'll be €330 after the UK retailers slap their markup on it.

We have also learned that a separate SKU featuring more internal storage and a packed in game is planned to sell at £249.99. We have heard rumours as to what this pack in game is, but we currently have only one source on this information so we are unwilling to talk about that pack in title at this time.
Both our sources have told us that additional Switch Pro Controllers are expected to sell at launch for £39.99 at GAME.

Between getting the bigger internal storage switch and a pro controller it will be an expensive enough console. thats not including any separate games on top of the one packed in on launch, mario,zelda,splatoon..

The £249 SKU with game makes me wonder what the game is if that £50 difference also includes extra storage. I'm guessing it'll be like Nintendoland and Wii Sports

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

    Hope it's Splatoon.

If that pricing is true I think as good or better than a lot would have expected, even the higher bundle (depending on exact storage difference of course) with a game is priced decently. The actual prices they will be is a different matter, especially here. Nintendo has no control of pricing in the UK but I would expect close to RRP. I can imagine buying from there rather than paying the markup places will inevitably charge here, even if I do prefer getting consoles in hand.

I'm still holding out hope for a Party Faithful sku that offers the expanded storage and a bundled in new game but also rewards your Wii U ownership by giving you access to the remasters of Mariokart, Splatoon, Smash et all provided you've previously downloaded DLC or a patch on your eShop account. Ah go on....

Whole were sharing price rumours, how much extra do you think irish companies will charge us?
10 like the Wii or 20 like the 3ds or 30 like wiiu?

Don't you mean how much extra will UK retailers with premises here charge us Irish customers? I think roughly €20 - €30.

    I'll go with €300/€250

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,196 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Well there's conversion rate, different tax rate and then have to round it up to the nearest 50. Though think it's the same price across the rest of the Eurozone and they go with the highest VAT.

Sidenote, it's funny that I click into so many threads where miles is the last poster and the way it loads all I see is "Hello to Jason Isaacs!"

Emily Rogers says Zelda isn't a launch game

    https://arcadegirl64.wordpress.com/2016/11/14/rumor-breath-of-the-wild-will-not-be-released-in-march/
Based on what I’ve heard, I have no reason to believe that Breath of the Wild will be a March title. There’s a much higher chance of Breath of the Wild being a summer 2017 game.

On an unrelated note, I’ve also heard whispers of the Switch version of BoTW running more smoothly than the Wii U version. Furthermore, I hear the final version of the game is a bit harder than what the press and media played at E3. Actually, I hear they toned down the E3 demo’s difficulty a tiny bit because they wanted journalists and press members at E3 to have fun exploring.

Not that surprising since they never said it was. Although they'd better have something for Switch launch, like that 3D Mario, or we'll have another dismal launch line up like the 3DS had.

Did Nintendo not say that Zelda was being released in March 2017 for Wii-U and Switch? Could have sworn I read that ages ago or it was mentioned during a Direct.
Seriously disappointing if it's not a lunch title.

They've never committed to a month, only the year.

I must've imagined it so. Was convinced they said it was a launch title (and not 'launch window' either). Sure the whole point of the delay, officially at least, was to make sure they had a decent software lineup for it. If there isn't Zelda + another big name title then I'm defo out at launch. No idea who Rogers is but hopefully she's wrong in this case. :)

I think they said march for Wii U ? makes sense on a business level sell as much as possible on Wii U then several months down the line put out the switch version.

I don't think I could wait for switch version though but I don't want to give in and buy it twice.

They said March on the e3 site then edited it to just 2017 I believe.
