Tbf there isn't a hope that the Switch is powerful enough to get a port. They don't hate Nintendo either, ME3 sold damn all copies on WiiU & the first 2 games were never going to be re released after that.
It's only being realistic to say stuff like that, Overwatch, Red Dead 2 & some 3rd party titles might struggle to get Switch ports. If the Switch is a success I imagine they'll make versions. But it's not down to hatred of Nintendo more down to knowing what they can make financially.

I never said hatred, you did :)

You mean a badly optimised late port sold worse than the trilogy that performed better on PS3/360 when both packages were the same price? I think the trilogy on PS3/360 was actually a little cheaper.

Apparently Overwatch was made on such a way that it runs very well even on low powered pc's. It's definitely a game I'd love to see on Switch, although a new Splatoon would maybe be too similar a game if that was being released also.

I'd love to see more Bethesda games on there, assuming Skyrim is a given. Doom would be nice, if a GOTY edition was to come out any extra missions, that would be very welcome!

It'll be the fresh, irony implicit, likes of Doom that will what I want to see making the journey to the Switch, no reason why not, same with the likes of Fallout 4 goty.
Keep in mind we are very likely to see the Dark Souls titles making there way, as a trilogy, to the Switch, at the same time as the package comes out on the PS4/XB1.
Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Switch, no one has said it won't happen, and seeing as the game isn't out until the Autumn there's no reason that the Switch couldn't get a port if the console sells like hotcakes and becomes an attractive platform for Rockstar to develop for.
Perhaps they might even tailor a specific experience for the Switch itself... a bit like Chinatown Wars on the DS, before it was ported to the PSP.

Kimishima will be presenting the live event next week! And it has 'potentially age sensitive content' in it.

Yep. I was initially excited for the prospect of Skyrim before realising that there’s no way I’d buy it – I’ve already bought it three times. Played it to completion on the 360, picked it up on sale then on the PC before getting the Special Edition for the Xbox One just to relieve it all again.

This has made me realise that I hope the combination of portable & home consoles won't mean the end of more traditional portable style games.

The last 3 generations of Nintendo portables have had a huge variety of quality games that work well specifically as they are for a portable device.

Would be a pity if the portable aspect was reduced to just "console games on the go"

In regards to the price, I'm gonna be optimisic and say less than the Wii U. 300 quid!

Console games on the go, as concept, was the selling point of the Vita, with somewhat comparable PS3/Vita game releases.
When it came to the dedicated Vita stuff, some of which was later ported to the PS3/4, it worked fine, but the big console game ports just didn't seem to rock anyones boat.
In the end, it remains a great machine to own if you like JRPGs, or the best Wipeout in years, or maybe TxK or some of the other "one more go" titles, but the likes of Uncharted there just stank.
The 3DS was a handheld, and even when the lower screen or the 3D was ignored, it still has been host to masses of great titles.

Laura Kate retweeted this from the UK Metro paper

    C1eWSWZWgAA1jLE.jpg

    Edit - anpost says £245 = 295 euro right now. So 329.99?

edit edit - Apparently Laura Kate isn't the source for that claim from Metro, she says they have their own source for it.

I read another person saying that it's £250. It'll come with a game and there are no multiple SKU's. Kinda making me think that I should jump on the Gameseek pre order before it changes(£198.50).

That's if the rumours are true. Both Mario and Zelda are said to be launch titles.

How reliable are Gameseek though? Might be waiting ages for delivery./

Gameseek are a great site and very reliable. I've bought from them numerous times, the last time being just before Christmas.

It cost nothing for them to release the trilogy on 360/PS3 as those games were already released on those systems.By the time they released the trilogy you could get all 3 pretty cheap too. Unlike a WiiU port 1 & 2 which would take more time/money.
If ME3 had sold well they would have made ports & EA would not have abandoned the system as quickly. Warner did the same thing releasing Arkham City which was a year old by then on WiiU, never heard a peep on Asylum getting ported or bundled.
When the switch releases it will have several ports I fully expect them to all be full price at launch. If there is FIFA 17, Doom or Skyrim (assuming it's the remake) at launch it will cost the same despite being 5/6 months old.

Regarding Arkham Asylum, it was played by everyone who wanted to play it by the time Arkham City arrived on the WiiU, so what was the point?

The Arkham City port was pretty good but it quickly became a bargain bucket title, and has remained so.
It's a catch 22 with EA, a system will struggle without their regular releases from their various IPs, and they won't release games for a struggling format. As said, why spend money on Mass Effect 3 at full price when you could get the trilogy for the PS3 for less.

That said, at the time they abandoned the platform there was still hope, and sales of the WiiU were not yet insignificant.
I think the sheer quality of the first party titles and the lowest common denominator of the third party stuff meant they had little or no market interested in Need for Speed or Fifa.

If these companies and or Nintendo were smarter, they'd price them better. Skyrim Remaster can be got on PS4/XB1 for 29.99 right now, less on PC. They should price it at 29.99, but it'll be up for 69.99, at least for the first month or 6 weeks. Same with need for speed, just dance, call of duty, whatever.

If i was gonna stay up and watch the presentation, id have this all ready to go in the checkout payment stage ready to click order if the prices they announce arent agreeable with gameseeks offer, if theres no different with skus.

Edit: on second thoughts if its released on a Friday 17th march, no chance seeing it till after the bank holiday, that would ruin my anti social switch patricks weekend plans.

Apparently those Gameseek orders have been getting cancelled and or refunded.

Common sense? Who needs that? It's overrated.

Okay, stop twisting my arm! I'll try and get up at 7 next Friday to watch it before work.
Must get a direct link to the youtube channel for it beforehand so I can go directly there without having anything spoiled. :)

The Switch presentation on the 13th is set to be roughly an hour in length according to NicoNico Live.

It's been so long since Nintendo have done a live conference, that I've seen. Hope it's not as bad as the PS4 Pro conference. Or even as anti climatic as the Wii U conference.

Rumor: Koei Tecmo working on new Nintendo-themed Warriors game for Switch

Koei Tecmo could be collaborating with Nintendo on another Warriors game for Switch, if the latest speculation is to be believed.

On Wii U, the two companies worked together to bring Hyrule Warriors to Wii U. The game was then ported to 3DS last year as Hyrule Warriors Legends.

YouTuber OBE1plays first claimed that Koei Tecmo is developing a new Nintendo-themed Warriors game for Switch. Apparently, the project is not a retread of Zelda, nor is it based on Star Fox. Laura Kate Dale, who has been posting Switch rumors over the past few months (many of which have proven accurate thus far), wrote last month that Koei Tecmo pitched a Star Fox Warriors title at some point, but Nintendo turned it down.

Following OBE1plays’ report, Dale wrote on Twitter that she’s heard similar things about Koei Tecmo’s Switch game. She as well says it isn’t related to Zelda or Star Fox.

Leaks! Or rather, 'leaks' cos ya know, consider it to be fake till proven otherwise.

Course, glass half full and all that, we'll know for sure in 116 hours or so, so I'm not bothered.

Is the FaKe Kirby title looking like a rerelease of the Kirby title on the WiiU?
That'd be tough seeing as, when docked, the game does not give access to the touch screen.
So, a brand new Kirby title already!
    Woohoo....
    Assuming it's not FaKe....

Rerelease/port of mario kart 8 is 99% on the cards for the switch.

I doubt they'd just flip the '8' in Mario Kart 8 like that on it's side, unless they are going for a 'Mario Kart Infinity' thing.

How many games do people expect to be released on Launch day ?

The Gamecube and Wii had about 2 dozen and Wii U was around 30.

So I'm guessing around 25 ish

I would say less than 10 outside of Japan depending on the release date.

    Cherry Coke
    Bag of peach loops
and, as I'll be 45 that day
    Packet of Rennies....
