Yeah, the V8 is around since the beginning of the 20th century. Invented by a Frenchman I believe. ;)

AFAIK you can blank it alright but I quite like having an immobiliser :pac:

It may not be the actual EWS at all but any number of other systems contributing to it, the EWS just can't read the keys ISN and Passwords.

god damn modern cars with their overcomplications:P

just on the ews removal i am thinking back to my e30 days looking at 525 24v conversions that is was possible to remove the ews completely and have one less headache in the conversion;)

Any history of the "transponder ring" or whtever its called in the ignition column giving trouble? gives trouble on some cars. It's a coil around the ignition that talks to the key. I guess whoever is looking at it is aware of these things.

It's the best case option afaik.

This has been mentioned one or two time to me alright, it happened once before when I first got it but was then flawless for 5 months. If the new key doesn't work it'll be trucked down to MMW I'd say for diagnosis.

My feckin exhaust bracket is broke again :shíte:. I did think it was something worse as it was banging about. The lip on the bumper is keeping it off the road.

Bought an upgraded rear arb for the gtv today just shy of 500 Euro delivered

It a made by alfaholics who specialise in tuning parts for the 105 series and I've only heard good reviews of it.
However I might have a problem, it increases the lateral g force and turn in speed so much that the seats may no longer be capable of holding me in at high speeds :pac:

I'm trying to get motivated to go out and spend a few hours cleaning the car tomorrow. I kind of have no more interest but at the same time it always seems nicer to drive when it's all polished up and shiny :) and could do with a clean on the inside. But in its current state if you kind of squint from a distance it looks clean :)

Need to do a massive spring clean on the inside of the Corolla. I hoovered it out once when I bought it and haven't since.

Theres actually been a little spider in the dash for months now.

You have a spider too? I've one living in my left mirror anytime the car starts he runs in behind it and comes along for the spin, probably the most well travelled spider in ireland :pac:

Saw an A8 with the super all led headlamp system. Wasn't very dark so didn't notice it doing any adaptive lighting tricks. Rear indicators do an interesting scrolling kinda effect. Satisfying in a nerdy way.

I'm not at that stage yet, I hope :P If the key doesn't work it's off down to a specialist.

Must take a drive down there soon, the rugby wins today though. Speaking of 5s, saw this on donedeal today. If I hadn't just bought a car, I'd be very tempted.
