For me, this is seriously grim
    SUBARULegacyWagon-2249_1.jpg

Compared to even this SE model:
    10028.jpg

The legacy interior looks way nicer there, the BMW looks so dated. :pac:

Really though, that's the same interior with different wheels.

the legacy wheel looks like some monstrosity from a ford probe iirc:o

E39 SE interior looks proper dated if you ask me, especially with the wood. M sport, on the other hand, looks great.

Legacy gets my vote as an all-rounder

They came with a Nardi 3 spoke in Japan AFAIR. Foxhole picked an ugly wheel to try and prove a point. :pac:

Edit: 4 spoke MOMO but still.

In fairness I had the same faux wood crap as in that BMW in a mazda 626. It's about as classy as a stretch hummer.

I honestly don't understand how people think Japanese interiors are crap, especially when compared to german ones. Just look at how neat the HVAC controls are on the subaru compared to the BMW. To me the BMW interior looks like a wheelie bin thrown sideways into the car with many many buttons pushed into it in an illogical order. As for the steering wheels... Subaru one isn't great but the BMW one looks like something from a fishing trawler. Now the BMW is a fine looking car on the outside but the interior is just the pits...

Looking at bmstuffs posts you see some class bmw interiors. And even that SE interior would have been impressive fadó fadó. But bmw definitely went through a long time where the average dash was dull and certainly no classier than a Japanese model of similar price.

I just took one of the first photos from a Google :pac:

With regard the interiors though, I like modern Jap interiors, just can't stand late nineties/early naughtiest interiors.

Soooooo i found my boost leaks :o

all around the turbo intake pipe, so its not too bad! The guy at jomo engineering was an absolute legend to deal with, he's got himself a new customer :D

Casually sitting in the garage was a 2jz supra getting coilovers, a stock car and a few other bits, while i was told the story of a local lad who owns a tvr tuscan r, which i need to see

I have seen that Tucson sideways! That's his second one and all! Glad you got sorted, john is a gent to deal with, my OH's Mini was probably lurking there somewhere too.

    You're being such a motor-racist. :pac:
Not surprised though, I'd be resentful too if I realised my interior is no better than my bench mark of hate.

Tuscan sideways = thing of beauty.

Tucson sideways = sphincter clenching fear.

Tested a 2.0TT that my buddy had for a while and I will say the power and it's delivery was class, now if they put that into a car with a nicer interior.......

Here's a half decent Subaru 3 spoke MOMO wheel.

The one in the legacy above is a let down in fairness - you kinda expect a leather wheel with some buttons when you have leather seats.

The e39 interior is probably a much nicer place to sit...

On the driveway while you try to get it started around the electrical fault.

Subaru just went and made an interior that's more ergonomic and similarly styled but in a car that doesn't break down half as much. Lets all berate them because the steering wheel is a bit uglier.

i know which i'd rather have :pac:

Missed a chance to sell the Bora. Ehh... gotta wait for someone else to come along now. :(

It's not even on my driveway :p

Update though, body shop called BMW, they said that sometimes the keys just lose complete sync and a resync won't do it, they said it's rare for both to go but they hope a new key will do it, should have that Monday.

Great to see BMWs design coming on in leaps and bounds.

    If it ain't broke...........

    ;)

My e39 is the exact same as that SE pic that was shown. And yes the seats are really comfortable(leather) and on long drives on main roads put cruise control on and relax. Feet off the pedals and heat on.
I nearly fell asleep one day.(joke)

I was told that story too! followed by "he's the first man in kinnegad to buy a tvr, write it off, and then buy another one" :pac:

yeah that mini was beside mine actually, but yeah very nice guy to deal with indeed

Well when no one else likes you, you gotta stick to gather.

Can I also point out BMW's late entrance to the turbo straight six movement? :pac:
It's not like Nissan and Toyota were using similar set ups in the 90's and now BMW use theirs in there E9*'s. :pac: :pac:

We were happy enough with the V8's. ;)

What the motherf**k! passing the Liffeyvally exit doing 80, see a 60 sign so apply the brakes to slow down, as I am slowing down there is a Garda van hiding behind the sign, nobody can slow down to 60 in that amount of time without prior knowledge of the speed change in advance, if I get points on my clean licence I will flip, fu*king scum.

    Yeah, Japan had V8's too.
Hardly pioneers of engineering on that front. :p
