Discovered some old parking tickets that were stuck down at the bottom of the windscreen as old as 2007.

Edit: Micks Garage no longer has a 'sort by price' option?

Heard on the news there new speed limit signs going up on country roads which are for the driver to decide the appropriate speed without going over the limit obviously.

Like France's 130 dry and 90 in rain signs?

Good luck to them trying to enforce it as they don't have the manpower. Another hairbrained idea from the rsa and department of transport idiots. I suppose they have to spend their funding somewhere.

Regarding the fuel thing, never really brimmed the car so don't know how the pump kicks back. I always decide upon a fixed amount to go into the car eg 60 or 70. Never yet had to stop the pump, although the pin does often be at the very top.

Unless I was putting in 20, 30 or 40 euro then I would throw in an even number but I'd never put in any more than that without filling it. If filling I just put as much diesel in as I can get in as I find the tank small as it is and then whatever it cost 60.53 euro or whatever. I suppose the only reason you would try and keep it even is if paying with cash but I literally can't even remember the last time I bought diesel with cash always use card.

I'm starting work placement too and my plan is to brim the tank and then just keep it full every week so I'm going to pick the same day every week and fill it. I'm also going to start tracking it through Fuelly just to see what it will be like to have it tracked over 6 months. Filling it the first week will be the most painful then I recon 30 euro a week roughly.
Really need to get the car serviced over the Easter break. Gone over by almost 1.5k miles. Just after remembering there today at the last service the mechanic said that the rear brakes I think, had only 30 percent left on them and need to be changed at this service. Started hearing a tiny bit of squealing off them today. It's usually always serviced before time, I'm slipping :o

I recon I'll get the service now warning on Sunday going back to cork. From then on I will be running overdue. So have a trip back to kk on Monday then back to cork airport Tuesday then a weeks holiday and then I'll worry about it so will probably end up 1-1.5 k km overdue but not the end of the world there is longlife oil in it anyway so Id say it will be no harm to leave it till 16.5k km to service. It's a fu service this time too so I have to get all the filters.

Car booked for wheel refurb end of next week looking forward to seeing them in Anthracite should set it off nicely!! Sort the bumper and car park dings then after that should be it pretty sorted cosmetically.

Will wheel repair places just do one, and match them up with the others on the car? The other wheels are perfect, and only one has some damage (not as bad as I first thought...).

Doing all 4 is a lot more expensive than just buying a new wheel!

I'd imagine they would to cater for people getting spares or the like done.

I guess a better question would be, will they be able to do it well enough that it looks identical to the other 3 on the car...

If you take it to the likes of Wheel Wizards I'd say they could do it no problem!

They'll never guarantee a match because the only way to get a perfect match is have them painted in the same batch/conditions.

So I brought the car to the mechanic today to finally try and get a diagnosis for the rattling noise when accelerating.
Came back with 2 errors, P2004 and P2017 - both related to the inlet manifold.
Car going in on the 30th to have the valve cleaned out and see if it cures it.
    Bet you all it doesn't.

Doing one they can get it close but will probably tell you it won't be 100%. I'd do one or replace it and use it as a spare. I wouldn't bother getting the other perfect ones painted as the finish won't be as good.

Well I like it because it is a bit different, older cars are better IMO, I like the shape of BMW cars of that era.
