He is far, far better at 6.

Maybe right at this moment (though before injury he was coming into his own in the second row), with some work and patience though he could become world class at lock

Some pretty poor tackling in the centre there. Might have been Jones.

    Felix won't be happy

    Try Saxons.

Wolfhounds should have got something for all their pressure. Error count high.

Feck it, well worked try there. Ireland are all over the place so defending so far, worrying.

Who was that who made that disaster of a tackle?

Jones, I think. Unlike him, very poor :(

Terrible attempt at a tackle from Jones.

Christ, took 3 players to take Elliot bloody Daly down? We need to be far more aggressive in defence if a 14 stone centre can do that to us.

No real control with our half backs yet

Felix poor in the tackle, and McGrath and Ross very lumbered to set the defensive line.

He's not going to be a 6. Simply isn't the need for him there aside from Ulster who will put him at lock as soon as they can find a good 6.

He doesn't catch the eye as much at lock but he's an utter pain in the arse there too and makes life very difficult for the opposition.

Which is nuts. It's like if Leinster moved SOB to 8. He can do a job but is far more potent at flanker.

Henderson is the same. A good lock and an amazing 6.

He's playing well but it seems unlikely that he'll leap ahead of Murphy/TOD/Henderson.

Agreed. At the start of the game, I wouldn't have had him in the conversation at all but I can't argue with how good he has been.

Really poor gainline defence so far, too many soak tackles.

Biggest winner for Ireland is Ian Keatley so far.

D'Arcy not having a great game. A lot of poor/sloppy touches.

    D'arcy really rusty so far.

Absolutely. Madigan doing nothing for his chances here.

Mads is the inverted Samson, he needs to shave his beard to get back to his own self.

Good kick need to get territory and a few phases

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,195 ✭✭✭✭Buer

I would have put that down to Madigan. He went on the loop and then looked like he wasn't interested in taking the ball at all until it was popped.

    Madigan Madigan Madigan....

Great line out drive ......SOB carrying......great to see.

When Joe said he wanted the players to give him a selection headache I don't think he meant this ha

Ireland don't like scoring at all this half! Very sloppy at ruck time and silly errors.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,195 ✭✭✭✭Buer

We get turned over at a ruck with all our back row and other lock (Henderson carried), in the back line watching.

Leno just nailed it in commentary
Madigan hugely exciting but can he manage a game away in Italy?
