Edit: I don't think that would work as the outer shell is held to the Inari via roll pins so there's no room for adjustment in that way and the INO bolts are notorious for riding a little low which is probably why the outlet route bucking and valve knocker are so chewed up

I think the WA mag is just nackered an needs a revamp as it is leaking slightly from the outlet valve could be a simple fix with a squirt of silicone oil. The valve knocker is also a bit chewed up from the steel bolt (yay! Another weekas pot metal part!)

I will wait and see how the prowin's perform but I may just switch to GHK V2's

The WE M14 arrived! I haven't used it enough to get a proper idea of it's functionality, but my god is it HEAVY. Heaviest airsoft gun I've held, including LMG's.

Yeah I heard their hefty enough wait till you get the walnut stock and steel parts on there :D!

Apparently this may get a GBBR adapter later.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Jsmurff

    That…is…epic…

It would kill the need for normal speed loaders for GBBR/mid-cap/low-cap magazines. Pistol magazines would still probably use ye olde speed loader.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Jsmurff

Possibly however if they release it and the later release adapters what's to stop chinese manufacturer from releasing their own one does all multifunction versions or Taiwanese versions that are digitally controlled and electroly driven e.g. Like a smart charger you select the capacity and then insert mag and press go and it auto fills. You would have 10 mid's filled in the time it takes to fill 4 or 5 with current speed loaders.

It seems like a pretty simple device at the end of the day it's a high capacity mag that uses a crank handle to fill other mags but it is the start of a nifty inovation that will make milsiming way easier with quicker turnaround time when re spawning

I know it's a pain with standard speed loader, their adaptors don't really do well for GBBR mag, and I have to wrench my fingers painfully to make sure the loader doesn't slip from the one position where it works.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Jsmurff

Yes it is quite fidly at the moment and hopefully their adapter will fix into place thus eliminating this newsence

Although to be fair to ghk their adapter works for both their AK an M4 series mags perfectly and it connects with the speed loader in such a away that you can fix it in place permently with a bit of locktite and not worry about it snapping off

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭ElSniperino

I must say, for the WE M14, the speed loader they give is a godsend. 15 bb's per fill on the loader, and I've changed the magazine spring to hold 30 bb's. It's actually quite useful.

Don't forget to get replacement springs they ware out fast but yes again a very basic design and very helpfull

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭ElSniperino

Ok, it seems that the M14 has some niggly bits that one needs to be aware of.

It doesn't really like it when the magazine is put in to it when the bolt is closed. Puts it off kilter be enough to not have a decent seal between the magazine and the nozzle. Causes it to vent. The valve inside the nozzle seemed to have been sticking, too. Putting the magazine in with the bolt open and putting a little oil in the nozzle seems to fix the issue.

Allot of GBBR's don't like having mags shoved in with the bolt forward if you don't cock an m4 the firing pin will be protruding into the magwell and will cause all the gas to vent. The only way to fix this is get a viper tech GFPA as the hammer will move up out of the way when you incert a mag.

Also I manahed to fix the FN 5-7 mag I opened it up and cleaned out all the oil and superglue and there was quit a bit of gunk too. I put P.T.F.E grease around all the o-rings and the route bucking now it's so gas tight I can refill it multiple times even when it get could enough that I had to put something between my hand and the mag lol.

My rifle is getting a good going over today there is some amount of gunk and crap in the lower its not even funny but surprisingly enough the inner barrel is clean spotless infact. Also a chunk of the nozzle may have snapped off as I found a dirty jagged chunk of metal shoved into the hop unit when I disassembled the upper but won't know till I break down the BCG

Glad to hear you fixed the 5-7 mag!

As for the rifle, I tend to find that any paint that's on the inside of the rifle tends to be the first to come off and become gunk. Once that initial wave of particles are gone, it tends to slow down.

The nozzle breaking sounds really weird though. Is it a metal or plastic nozzle?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Jsmurff

Its metal possibly aluminium but the problem is its attached to a Steel bolt which has left a nice impression of itself on the barrel extension (the part of the hop unit that looks like the chamber).

i have no idea where the gunk came from as the only components with paint on them are the hammer lock and the bolt stop and both of these are barely touched it could be from the coating on the underside of the inokatsu bolt.

I was hoping to buy more 5-7 mags 2 more to be precise but somebody went onto airsofteire before me and bought them :(

EDIT: never mind just checked the website and their back! yipee!!

Also this is the kit I am using at the moment for €11.90 i can see this going a long way the brush is pretty **** though

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭ElSniperino

I got that kit too. It's mostly pretty decent stuff. I agree with the brush being horrendous though. I've already lost it.

Just for people to know, this is the contents of the kit:

    - A cleaning cloth. Pretty decent. Had to throw mine out since I got it full of metal shavings during a failed modification.

    - Silicon grease. Standard stuff.

    - P.T.F.E. grease. Just teflon grease. Works well for AEG gears and bushings.

    - Silicon oil spray. Again, standard.

    - Bearing oil. Does what it says on the tin. Put it on one of my piston heads' bearings. Smoother now.

    - Green putty. Simply a sort of blu-tack to remove bits and pieces of hard/dry gunk from hard to reach corners.

    - Oil remover. This I find especially handy. Makes it a breeze to clean components from old oil and grease. Beware of getting it on plastic/rubber though. I hear it can start eroding it pretty fast.

    - Awful little brush. Ignore.

The squirt lid that comes in the kit is pretty bad too it's for the oil/ grease remover. Leaks terribly I would chuck that strait off.

Also got the nozzle out and it's got a big chunk missing out of it.

    Daaaaaaaaaaamn. Sorry to see

Still works though… just don't know for how long lol might go with a polymer one next might put up with being sandwedged between two peices of steel better than this one did

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭ElSniperino

Yeah. I heard the metal ones don't fare well in the cold. How do you find it?

Bit sluggish it's got a good bit of weight to it would probably fare well with Co2 but I've only got grease gas atm

It does have a satisfying clank to it though.

Was thinking of giving this a try:
    http://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/specialist-suppliers/fg-airsoft-116/fg-airsoft-wa-m4-adjustable-nozzle.html
Nozzle and NPAS all in one. But ultimately I am hoping to make a viper tech/ Iron Airsoft hybrid with magpul accessories plenty of the real deal available in the UK

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭ElSniperino

I think I'm going to keep that milspecsolutions site open in a tab permanently xD Seems like a fantastic place to source GBBR parts.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Jsmurff

Yeah their pretty good bit iffy about ordering though if your not in the UK you have to email them and I think £18 is what you'd pay in postage for a rif and a couple of mags which is pretty cool

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭ElSniperino

I only really plan on getting upgrade parts.

Also, just out of the first day with the M14. Takes some getting used to for making sure it doesn't vent. But a good rifle. Got plenty of hits =P

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Jsmurff

Nice to hear bud :) how many mags you got

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭ElSniperino

Only one. Made it a pain for reloading mid-game, but I plan on getting more now that I've settled it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Jsmurff

Well I think milspec has em

EDIT: it appears I only have one working mag for the WA the OEM mag. The three pro-wins I got my hands on seem to vent uncontrollably when filled it's as if the release valves seels are either completely gone or not resetting properly tried to open one up to take valve out and inspect it but they are shut up pretty tight

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭ElSniperino

Maybe try holding the valve open and dousing it in silicon oil? Maybe that will help loosen it up a bit?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Jsmurff

Oh for christ sake now why didn't I think of that? Lol I'll grease the fill valves and route buckings aswell just incase

    You know the saying:

If it moves and it's not supposed to - Duct tape it

If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - Oil it
