    Costa and a City defender.

Im gonna spend the next 11 hours or so deciding between playing safe with Costa or gambling with Dzeko in for Aguero.

Think there is a lot of defensive options out there, depends who you have in your defence at the moment?

Sell Kun before price drop or wait to see City midweek line up to see if Dzek or Jov are suitable replacements?

Take the 4 point hit and shift Chambers and Aguero. I'd go with a City defender considering their run of games through the Christmas period and you don't want to be doubling up on Chelsea defenders.

Chambers is likely to face rotation as soon as he's back with other first choice defenders coming back from injury at Arsenal. Aguero's going to be out for several weeks. Taylor is cheap and plays because of Newcastle's injury woes so I'd bench him for the next week. Vlaar could be back soon and they have a nice run after Christmas.

You need to do something about Yun, Tadic, Tiote and Bridcutt over the next couple of weeks too. Or limp through to the wild card and build it up again.

    Costa and a City defender.

Which city defender though? Clichy and kolorav rotate regularly, sagna and zabaleta may share games over Christmas.hard to know which of demechilles/mangala is preferred and kompany is only coming back from injury and is on 4 yellows.

Going too move on Kun and Chambers for Costa and Zabelleta I think. Ivanovic is prob more realiable but 3 chelsea players is a lot!

Tadic's drop in form is worrying! Tiote is just back and starts a lot for newcastle and bridcutt started last weekend and played well so I'd fancy him too keep his place this week! I'm not extatic about any of them but I need too attend too other areas first!

I got lucky on the keeper front that when Krul got injured i had pantilliom as back up and he's scoring well

Maybe a Swansea defender? Williams or Naylor? Reid for West Ham. I wouldn't mind a City defender myself but they are all risks as far as I can see over the next couple of weeks to miss games

I can see zabeletta playing a lot of games and only have sagna covering for the FA cup etc. Only thing that has me worried is Taylor is suspended and vlaars injury, other wise sll 5 are starters so I could risk zabeletta

Could be worth waiting til to see who lines up for the Roma game. Kolarov and Sagna are more of a rotation risk than Zabaleta or Clichy. If Kolarov lines up against Roma I'd be plumping for Clichy.

Ye, fair point. I do reckon Sagna will play at least 1 of these league matches coming up but if you can absorb it then no better man than Zabaleta

Zab is an interesting one. He was doing savage attacking in the last couple of games.

Looking at the appearances, Zab was rotated for Sagna in 3 games so far, which were in GWs 3 (Stoke h), 8 (Spurs h) and 11 (QPR a). Zab also missed GW1 for some reason, (Kolarov and Clichy played).

His rotation risk is therefore lower that I thought, and with the likelihood that Kompany will get a yellow in the next three games and miss out due to suspension, added to the much higher potential for attacking returns from Zab, it may just be worth it!!

Zab could be good for an attacking return v Leicester too.

I need to replace Chambers and Kun. What is the best option?

I already have Costa, Fab and Hazard so can’t get any more Chelsea players for the moment.

I want to go for a city defender but who? Is clichy the best option in defence?

Is Rooney the safest bet in attack?

Zab missed GW1 as he played all the way to the World Cup final and was late back.

Sorry if this has already been asked folks, but how does one check what they paid for someone? Wondering whether Sergio's drop tonight will affect me, would rather wait until after the Roma game to see how Dzeko and/or Jovetic get on.

On the transfer page, click data view.

Sod it. To avoid Sergios drop I have taken a gamble and brought Dzeko in for him.
    And Hart in for Krul.

The lord have mercy on my team.

Looking ahead to next weekend, I don't actually have a bad team:

    Green
    Taylor, Wisdom, Terry, Dummett
    Eriksen, Hazard, Siggy, Sanchez
    Costa, Aguero Replacement

That'll also leave me with Marney on the bench, along with the suspended Chambers and Austin.

My plan for the Aguero replacement is either Dzeko or Bony. I'd prefer Dzeko but will have to see how long he gets on Wednesday night. He's a fantastic finisher and people forget he's a 30 million pound player. He scored 16 goals in 31 games last year. Anyone know what his record was towards the latter half of last season when Kun was injured? If he gets at least a half Wednesday night, I reckon I'll go with him.

My worry about Bony is that he'll miss at least one game over Xmas for Gomis. I also have Siggy so if I get Bony in I'll be taking Siggy out, probably for Yaya.

And then he has the ACON

The Xmas period is my only worry for now. I'll worry about January when it comes!

I think I'll be in the rare position of not taking a hit for this GW. Barring injuries, I'll do Chambers to Terry and just start Boyd in a 3-5-2. That will also give me more time to assess my Aguero replacement.

A front 3 of Benteke - Bony - Lukaku would be pretty interesting over Xmas.

    Interesting and frustrating :pac:

swansea and liverpool play on the 29th and are the only two teams that get a 3 day rest as opposed to all the other teams that get a 2 day rest so less chance of rotation.

Yeah, I wouldn't have been worrying (till Lemlin made me worry :() about BOny being rested. On the form he is in will Monk rest him so he's nice and fresh for the ACON??

He'll have a few 75 minute games as usual I'm sure, but should hopefully have the goals in the bag by then. Note that as the game was not won on Sunday Gomis came on for a midfielder and Bony stayed on. If they are leading comfortably it will be Bony off for Gomis.

But then they have a shorter rest to the next game, 3 days later, than everyone else, so should balance out really. Essentially, between the 26th and the 1st, everyone plays 3 games.

Thats true but there is a huge difference between a 3 day recovery and a 2 day recovery. Lots of teams in european action play 3 games in 6 days Sun Wed Sat throughout the season. It rarely ever happens that there is 2 days between games. Swansea will have an Fa cup game on the 3rd or 4th Jan which gomis will probably start. Bony could well get rested I just think its less likely or neccessary for swansea and liverpool players.
