Theres an awful lot of reviewing and off topic comments in this thread lately.

We do have a ''what are you drinking this week" in the beer forum.
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057124382&page=633

Can we keep this to offers only.

    Calm down !

Short comments on the beers proposed as bargains are surely ok ?

Not craft though, it's just Diageo trying to get in on the action

    People aren't discussing bargains though.

There's people reviewing beers at standard prices.

Also as I linked, there's a forum and thread for discussion.
Id just prefer when I get an alert from a bargain thread that its just simply a bargain.

It works in the beer section(bargain thread), no reason it cant work here.

May not be 'craft', but taste is one of the best, Diageo or not.

Just because its made by 'The Man' doesn't mean it can't taste good.

We'll agree to disagree on that one

If it's not craft why would you post it in this section?

It should be in the other thread with the likes bud etc..

    Also, it is awful muck.

Not because it's made by "the man" but because it's tastes awful.

I also hate it being a blatant attempt at cashing in on an industry which it along with others actually destroyed over the years with bland and tasteless crap.

    Back to bargains.

Super Valu in Galway anyway, 5 Galway Hooker IPA(6.6%I think) for e10.

Its not the standard ale but the 60 knots, tasty stuff and a bit of a kick to make up for the smaller bottle.

They also had dropped Big banging Francis IPA to 3 for e9, pint bottle obviously.

Looking for offers on craft cans for festivals.
Molloys have 4 for €10 on rascals stout, red ale and white IPA. Also on 4 for €10 are 2 session pale ales from Fourpure, Northern Monk and Rascals.
And 4 for €9 on Blacks Pale ale.
    (all 330ml cans)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,355 ✭✭✭cruhoortwunk

Also in cans, Drinkstore have some stuff, but website isn't as easy to find cans on.
Kinsale KPA 5c cheaper and no requirement to get 4. And metalman for €2.50 each. Rascals cost more there though (€2.70 each)

Also 6 for 5 on various American cans including Sierra Nevada Torpeda and yet again, more IPA's.

I don't think any of the Irish breweries do good beers, they should stick to the ale and stout. Open to correction though

Ales and stouts are beer. Plus you're also wrong about your other comment. Lots and lots of amazing beers from Irish Breweries.

Ale and stout are types of Beer? Do you mean Lager?

Plenty of great Irish craft breweries out there.... Speaking of which I'm obsessed with Wicklow Wolf, the guys up there can't do any wrong. :pac:

Galway Bay too, have yet to try a bottle from them I've not loved. Great country for the beer, can't understand why anyone would say otherwise.

OK pedants you know what I meant (Lagers and beers other than Stour and ales), any examples of the good lagers?

    augustiner lagerbier hell
Incredibly crisp and tasty. Good pedigree too
After the Augustinian Hermits had founded a monastery on the "Haberfeld" (Haber Meadow) just outside of Munich in 1294, they also built a brewery at the beginning of the 14th century, as it was essential for the economy of the monks. The brewery was mentioned for the first time in 1328.

Am I the only one who thought this was a fairly average beer.

I found it overly sweet, almost medicinal in taste which I've tasted before in stronger beers but never at 4.5% or whatever it is.

I'm not saying it's terrible just not my bag.
