I heard Michael Cahalane got the all clear to return to hurling. A year of non contact rehab this year as he hasn't been able to any sort of exercise and will be back hurling next year. Great news for the young fella, regardless if he ever wears a cork jersey or not.

The very best of luck to him ..please god he will be back playing full again in the future.

Kerry GAA had regular updates - FT Cork 1-20 0-18 Kerry. Excellent Kerry display, which suggests we'll be competitive in the League, not sure how many regulars you'd playing.

Saw the team sheet yesterday and thought it would be a competitive fixture as a result.

Decent enough game. Thought Kerry were very good, few super hurlers in their team. Great to see the progress they're making

Would be good to have a competitive Kerry team back in Munster. With the standard of the so called hurling powers at a low it wouldn't be long before they got a scalp.

Cork very flat I thought - lacking a bit of aggression although it was freezing there - i was leaning against railing as i arrived late but moved to stand for second half - there was a bitter chill at pitch level.

Disappointed in Harnedy and Lehane at times - could have done more and likewise Luke O Farrell although he scored 1- 5 ? Missed opportunities

Kerry the happier team id say, their no 14 - from abbeydorney, Michael ?, Big man and very effective. They did score some lovely points!

Kerry were particularly good as working the ball out of the backs. For the tiny pick they have it's a good side they've put together

    Didn't think O'Farrell got 1-5 bit less I'd say

Silly straight red for cadogan to pick up as match was over at that stage

Youre right - 1-1 in first half, and 0-2 in second so 1-3 in total, a few of them out on a plate for him

Thought red card was harsh - from what I saw Cadogan shouldered him off the ball and got a dig off a hurley into stomach before it blew up - but ive seen a lot worse - but Cork will miss him v waterford

Ah I dont know, I thought it was poor fare, lacklustre throughout. Cork were just going through the motions. Always had the winnings of it. Kingston won't be making any judgements on any players (established or wannabes) based on this game. About as far away from championship hurling as it could be imo.
Kerry to their credit were up for it and gave it their best. You're right, they have some good players - I'd take their full forward any day. Ciarán Carey has his work cut out to improve on last year. Maintaining 1B status will be a huge ask for them and a great achievement if they can do it.

Roco were very poor . ASR were a lot sharper and had better hurlers throughout the field. Poor conditions but same for both teams.

Roco were shocking really. Prep very poor by all accounts. Only 1 training session since O'Callaghan cup final way back on 21 December apparently. If that's true, it really showed today. No touch at all and out hurled all over the field. And on a pitch where rucking ability was as important as hurling skills, Roco lost the vast majority of the battles on the ground. In short they looked seriously under prepared. Of course the dual mandate negatively impacts on both codes. By all accounts a football challenge was played last Wednesday. Hardly an ideal lead in to a Harty Quarter final. The difficult decision to concentrate on one code should have been made at some stage in the last few years. Players can't serve two masters.
The school need to seriously reflect on the opportunities lost in both Harty and Corn Ui Mhuiri in the last 4 years. A crop of serious athletes has passed through the school and nothing to show for it. Yes, it has to be about the academic first but as a school they have singularly failed to get the balance right. As as example, Roco had minimal support at today's game versus 2 or 3 bus loads from ASR. This reflects the absolute lack of leadership in the school when it comes to sport.
As a parent who was fairly close to the scene until recently I find it all so very very disappointing.
And as a GAA supporter I find it all a little sad that some great players will finish their secondary school cycles without a precious Harty or Corn Ui Mhuiri medal in their back pockets.

That's true but also very difficult with the injured players roco had ....Sean Powter limped off 10 mins in and he was one of their best forwards and Nathan Walsh who is a very good hurler .Im not arguing ASR were the better team but losing players like Powter is always going to hurt a team like roco

I heard the players asked to. Put off the football chalenge last week but school said no

    Terrible decision

Cork 0-18 Limerick 3-17. Yet again, goals prove the difference and Cork come up short on that front.

We failed to score them but we also failed to defend them. 1st goal was great vision from Cian Lynch but Mulcahy completely unmarked inside
2nd / 3rd goals Limerick allowed run through defence - poor defending for all three goals

Limerick started with a more experienced team and shored it up further when Cork were going well start of second half - battened down the hatches when they got their goals

We didnt create too many goal chances
