that's an understatement for sure but I guess to be positive we have put huge effort into the league before for little reward come championship so if we learn more about players from days like today then so be it. Roscommon will be tough next after their win in Killarney.

CIT played Cork in challenge this afternoon

Kearney played full game for Cork, looks like hand is fully healed and hes back available again

It's extremely early days, but there is a working trend of the footballers going huge periods without scoring. 17 and 24 minutes again today. They're a lovely team when things are going well, but they really need a strategy to get dirty scores on the board when under pressure.

very handy win for the Ladies footballers today, 2-21 to 1-3. think everybody has played some part in the 3 games bar Ger O'Flynn(injury) and Valerie Mulcahy. Anybody know Valerie's story? Injury? Opted out of the League or retired altogether?

We'll be lucky to escape relegation this year lads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,365 ✭✭✭zetecescort

we should be better than the Dubs imo. not good if all we can do is struggle to avoid relegation though. Galway wides stopped the score being an embarrassment. got the gap down to 3 a few times but galway never looked like losing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73 ✭✭Corcaigh Abu1

Very dissapointing display. No bite to the team at all. Again the inability of the forwards to win ball cost us. It was painful to watch the galway backs come out with the ball time after time. Some nice build up play by the backs ruined with the final pass it the forwards bein bested to the ball.
How many times did a cork player pass it straight to galway without even pressure being put on them? So hard to watch.
After seeing Waterford and kk give each other a right battle to the end it looks like we could be facing relegation. We are nowhere near that level.
I know it was only the first game but you would imagine the players would be bursting a gut to try and get some sort of revenge for the hiding last summer. The future looks bleak.

Is there any reason why the Cork team/squad is practically identical to last year's squad? Are they hoping other teams magically turn crap or something? There needs to be new blood.
