I must look at it again but it's half way up the window and it's a lot of scratches close together not one or two. Surly if it was dirt then there would be a few lines of scratches going the whole way up the window top to bottom not just the centre. But I suppose it's possible it's dirt just seems unlikely.

    No, I've seen that before.
Because of the curve of the glass it may touch in certain spots like you said.

It's only an idea however, you may well be right!

Maybe you are right hard to know it could well have been some grit the window is not getting any worse at least it's not directly in my line of vision when I'm looking right.

There are good tutorials on how to get them out of the window anyway if you have a DA, a strong cutting compound and work down.
    The tutorials get amazing results!

Ha I've been in a few nice enough van supposed to be a dog on diesel though compared to a renault master or similar. My dad used to have a good few vans on the road but always bought renaults kangoo, trafics, master, megane van he was too mean to spend the extra on vw's :pac: although when several spent time in ditches you couldn't blame him and the renault range were a lot better in terms of economy.

Bought a new car today! I think I'm going to like this one a lot... Hopefully it'll live up to my expectations of it. Oh and it probably isn't what you all think it is :pac:

I only drove a Cafter once and was shocked by how fast it was. Not sure what engine it was.

They came in 109 ish bhp then 140ish then I think there was one around 170 bhp I could be wrong though. A guy my dad knew that had a MWB one was always complaining he used to only be getting 20-22 mpg out of his and his was very well minded maintained had it from new. Where as the lwb renault master my dad had would constantly do 30-32mpg.

Yeah. Had a guy try and trade one in for a Land Cruiser before. For what he was using it for, it was far superior to the Toyota.

The Hyundai H1 is a little rocket of a van too.

I remember being behind a vito that was going like the clappers between carrick and ardee hai. He comes to the roundabout at mccabes and took it fully sideways

Vw Transporter 174 bhp 4 motion is suppose to be quite the van too.

Now that I think of it I used to work with a fella who had one in 2008, was a swb bright red one with alloys and chrome etc, he was from up that direction, fcuking madman, wouldn't be at all surprised if it was him.

Me and him used to drag race on the dual lane slip at sandyford, ae111 vs Vito every day :pac:

@bpmull, found them a bit undewhelming after all the stories i'd heard, quality van though.

I drove a caddy one time with a dsg box & mapped to +-200bhp by a guy in straffan, now that thing was bloody fast!

I'd loved to have taken on that caddy with the 406 in the day. Not a single tdi ever outpaced it when pushed on...

Was It foggy where anyone else was driving today. Foggy in kilkenny all day very bad in spots. I hit urlingford at 2pm and was foggy the whole way to kilkenny enough to justify front and rear fog lights. If anyone knows that road it fairly sh!t backroad type still got loads of people driving with no light or just DRL's on because sure why would you need the back of your vehicle lit up in heavy fog when you have these cool LED lights on the front. You'd swear it was majourly costing people to use lights.

    ^^^

Yep, very heavy fog from Kilkenny until Woodsgift (a few miles from Urlingford) this evening - left Kilkenny at 5.15. Clear after that heading west. Nice crescent moon and wondering what that star/planet below the moon was - anyone?

Was annoyed by car in front turning on rear fog lights in slow city traffic at start of journey. Totally unnecessary and slightly uncomfortable for driver behind.

I was coming from cork and the fog only started around urlingford seemed heavy the whole evening although I wasn't out driving in the dark though. Rear foglights can be bright at night Id turn them off if there was a car behind me.

    Me too.

I find that such consideration for one's fellow motorist can be rare, though !

Many drivers lack of awareness as to the effect they have on other road users can be quite shocking.

Very foggy down around slane earlier today out as far as drogheda. Some amount of gob****es with no lights on. I noticed at one stage, lights on you could see a car at about 200m, off less than 50m. particularly black cars.

Seen a local garage advertising about a major sale what was the deal 1500km of free fuel :pac: what's that about 100 quids worth of fuel sure most garage give you a full tank or near enough it when you buy a new car anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,553 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

I wonder if it's 1500 actual km or 1500km based on the optimistic manufacturers best case scenario figures?

Probably 1,500km based on the published combined consumption.

Still better than a kick in the stones though.
