problem with these new cars is

volvo gave them the same type of power and comfort and amazing reliability 10 years ago without even trying or having to call it sport !

But then, you'd have to put up with driving a Vulva.

Are you saying you'd rather an opel ?

Even the volvos i drive everyday in work are better than any opel ;)

Opel/Vauxhall/Saab whatever you call them, I'd take a GM car over a vulva hearing aid beige box any day!

Hmmm... 300bhp all wheel drive Volvo with heated electric leather interior, world beating safety and touring card pedigree. Or a 1.6 CDTI Astra with cloth seats and hub caps. Why must this decision be so hard!

You're really comparing top and bottom in fairness OSI.

I don't have much time for either brand but you could take the Volvo described and but a top spec VXR alongside it.

    I know which I'd take!

To be fair, they are getting near 200bhp cars which hopefully should get the job done and it makes a change to the Hyundais they use.
In Galway though I have seen 1 or 2 unmarked Mondeos (141 I believe) which had twin exhausts. Wonder what engine that had?

I saw in the indo that the e-handbrake has been been upgraded to a more reliable and useful version ie manual.

CHP didn't make any distinction, so I'm making an obviously hyperbolic comparison to show that saying you'd take any GM over any Volvo is a pretty silly statement to make. He's become a caricature of Clarkson at this stage.

    Really?
I think someone has gotten out of the wrong side of the bed today. (or this year)
Or alternatively their sanity has departed, you disparage me for making a silly statement but then go on to make one of the silliest statements ever uttered on these here proboards.

I'm off for a drive down rural route 47, I clan't believe some of the crap that is spouted here.
It's one step short in stupidity terms of "I'll tell me ma". Key mouse integration is obviously not happening before you type.

i agree. they might be turf burners, but 195bhp is probably more powerful than i'd say 75% of cars on the roads, so they'l be more than capable of their needs, so in relative terms i guess they are "high performance" by comparison of what they'l be dealing with.

The flagship volvo, to be compared with the bottom spec small hatchback Opel.
    You know, a logical comparison.

    It's not even a vectra :P

There was a little white van parked behind me going in. Chap was doing deliveries. Unless he put stuff resting on it..

But sure even if he did, he was gone when I came back and the security cameras don't cover the area, and the security guard didn't see him at the car, so...

Just the last thing I need at the moment. :(

Feck sake KKV you have really had a bad run lately!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,569 ✭✭✭Special Circumstances

Lotta pr1cks in this world. Grrr. Delivery guy resting something on it sounds plausible.

People should never touch another persons car at all, its the height of rudeness IMO, I always avoid even brushing against cars when I need to pass them in a car park.

I say its closer to 95/. Average about 100 hp maybe.

Someone scratched the sh!t out of my drivers window recently almost a foot square of heavy scratching it's like someone went at it with sand paper it's a pain its back on the window so not directly in my sight of vision. Although you've seem to been having a particularly bad bit of luck with that car hopefully things will turn around for you.

Is there any chance there is dirt inside the door?
You may have scratched it letting the window down and up and not minded BP?

Just I can't figure why someone would go at the window for no reason!

I must look at it again but it's half way up the window and it's a lot of scratches close together not one or two. Surly if it was dirt then there would be a few lines of scratches going the whole way up the window top to bottom not just the centre. But I suppose it's possible it's dirt just seems unlikely.
