We've seen what happens when they're given the run of a stationary cupboard.

I think we'll not risk letting them near anything more important.

    Thanks anyway.

    You already said this.

I'm convinced this is a machine I'm replying to. Must stop.

Well done to Lynn Boylan, first MEP that will be elected from Ireland

Yeah, she's just been on TV here telling us how they're gonna sort out Europe when they get get to the EU......Merkel, Barosso & co must be quaking in their shoes tonight at the prospect ! When her buddy Enda could shake her down for a few euro, I wouldn't bank on Lynn & Co having much success either !!

Yes. Proven is spectacular fashion in September 2008!

Cormac Lucey has a column in today's Sunday times; basically the figures do not add up and the salting the rich is being done and that well is going to go dry. Sinn Fein have an isolationist policy that really does not work if we want to export and trade out of our economic difficulties. I could go on...

agh yes...the sunday times...paper of the rich...defending the rich:pac::pac:...I think I would wait to see an independent report into it...

im aware the dept failed spectacluary in 2008...why has not more competent staff being brought in over the last 5 years??
who is over-looking keeping incompentant staff in that dept

you can rest assure...if SF budget were not accurate/realistic the dept would not be long letting them know

as for isolationist policy...where did people get that out of??
as any leaflets I ever read had a strong point of building up iondidious business and helping them expand there export markets

I think they deserve a border poll for that

That will guarantee a nice high property tax for the good people of Belfast. £1062 on a house worth £150,000, £2124 on a house worth £300,000. SF are very enthutiastic tax collectors, pay up or go to jail. But when they get into power here they want to scrap property tax.

SF have a wee bit more experience in dealing with the big boys than Enda has.

I can't see an SF representative being treated like this.

And bring back the second home tax and ratchet it up to compensate.

Lynn was asked what would she do in Europe. Her answer was we in Sinn Fein knew Lisbon One wasn't going to bring jobs, there is a lot of anger on the doorsteps.

but...if you got same services for your property tax (bins, school buses, water etc) it would be hard to argue against it

in the south..its basically enda Kenny saying ''here gives your money...and we'll do f**k all extra for you

at least they might stand up for Ireland...not get patted on the head like school children who won a spelling contest

But you don't get all those services for your one or two grand. They are nearly all paid for from central taxation which you also contribute to. Double taxation.

    And do what?

I'm unsure what the SF MEPs in the Communist/NGL grouping will be able to offer?

They make up a relatively small block.

So that makes us triple taxation payers?

We have income tax, vat, usc
    Property tax
    Water tax
    Health/gp charges
    Refuse charges
    Etc etc etc

Nordies are on to a winner tbh

The nordies get a massive subvention close to 1/3 their total public spending every year.

Akin to downing street donating the ROI a €20billion gift every single year.

NI don't play by the same rules of finance as a normal country.

Except if you subtract USC, water tax, Property tax, household charge.

    and add

medical care and prescriptions. And free bins

Its a better deal up there in the north . Would you disagree? Or are you a blind FF FG voter.

Sinn Fein have been historically isolationist they have dropped some of the olde stuff but its their... Dept of Finance officials do not really vet to hard any policy documents. They wanted to leave the Euro tell everyone to feic off and renege on all debts ala Argentina in the 2008 crisis and subsequent.

Their jobs policy is all about mass state involvement that will create jobs alright, remember everyone in Cuba has a job (like tending newspaper in the public lavatories) just most of them are absolute dire. I suppose you would not need to work to hard and would get plenty of time to head to the bookies....to be fair Cuba has an excellent free public health care system however most progressive people want to leave (oh well can not please everyone under communism).

FG's share of the vote has dropped in every constituency.
SF's share of the vote has risen in every constituency.

Labour have 45 seats so far and SF have 141.

Now that speaks volumes. The Govt fell asleep at the wheel. They are supposed to serve the people not visa versa.

    100% correct and right.

Peace is being bought... Northern Ireland has always been a drain on the UK.

Only the ones with houses worth over £400,000. If their house is worth millions they only pay the same as the person with a house worth £400,000. I have been better off up till recently paying just bins around €270 and even now with property tax compared to the Nordies with those shocking rates. No water charges yet.

Are you sure that the NHS is paid for from domectic rates?

you are aware that you have to pay quiet substantial sums for school buses aleady...and that they are bringing in water charges as well separate...and also bins are nearly 100% privatised and that you have to [pay the council if they collect them

to suggest that propery taxes in the north and south are comparable...is not a fair and more than a little misleading comparsion...if you are to get the services provided for your property charges in the south that you do in the north...I would support them...but you must know full well that will never happen

I still remain to be convinced that if therev wernt glaring mistakes thatbthe dept/govt wouldn't take pleasure in letting the whole country know

I would like to see this jobs policy you are quoting...is it 20+ years old??

I would suggest you study there new policies/leaflet...ive nebver seen anything like that
