I'm buying him to score points. I don't care if that is done from an attacking sense or defense. I compared him to midfielders because you said it was crazy to have that money locked up in a defender meaning you obviously think it's better spent in attack or midfield. Baines gives you better ppg per million spent than most midfielders or attackers.

If you want to compare him to defenders then he currently averages the highest score bar Coleman at 5.1ppg. Coleman is currently injured so isn't a option. Baines per million spent ppg - .69. If you analyse your first eleven, I guarantee that most of them don't give you that kind of value.

He has kept 1 clean sheet all season, I buy defenders to keep clean sheets, city defenders are all cheaper and more likely to keep clean sheets - top 2 assists from defenders are both city players - one of which is nealy 2 million cheaper than him.

Like is said previously if you have him for your reasons, then there is no reason to get rid of him.

It's quite funny that you compare him to City defenders. Lets do some comparison. For comparison sake I've taken the two defenders that you know will start each game for City if fit. Kolarov would be a great option if he wasn't being rotated with Clichy

Zabaleta (6.0m) - 3.8ppg ~ .63ppg per million spent
Kompany (6.3m) - 3.5ppg ~ .55ppg per million spent

Both are far worse value than Baines.

He means that Baines gets 5+ points per game which you would be happy with for a midfielder that cost 7.4m
The reason I'm selling is that I believe that RVP and a cheaper defender will score more points over the next few weeks than Baines and Adebayor. I could be completely wrong and probably am!!

So with Mariappa getting dropped I'm rethinking the Olsson purchase. They have City next week.
I'll probably buy Ward and RVP this week. Next week then I'll sell Mariappa for Olsson.

Thinking of selling Kos for Flanagan to free up some funds. Can't see anybody else for about 5.2. That will allow me upgrade Januzaj for Lallana. So I'll have Hazard, Mata, Yaya, Lallana in midfield. Arsenal have a hard run of games coming up and I dont want to double up on arsenal defenders.

I'm looking at Chester and Ozil out for Zabaleta and Yaya (4 point hit). Despite their prices changing over night I have £0.2m extra in the bank to cover this and would prefer to not have the worry going into tomorrow nights match. Would give me this team to play with - half thinking of benching Mert & Sagna!



Very happy with my team atm. Next week will likely go Sagna to Olssen to prepare for GW28/29, then look at downgrading Marshall to Boruc.

Yes but look at their fixtures in the meantime! I am definitely keeping GW28+29 in mind, and hoping Chelsea get past them in the Cup so they dont miss GW29

Presumably you already have Coleman. Distin at 5.2 is where im going with Sagna.

The ppg stat takes into account the number of games played. It divides a players total points by the number of games they've played.

Edit - It doesn't take into account if a player has only played part of a game. So total score is divided by the number of games a player takes any part in to get ppg. It's why Kolarov's ppg is so impressive. If you actually worked out what his ppg are based on 90minutes it would be huge!

Want to move out some of the City players ahead of their blank week, and also Januzaj if he's not going to get minutes. Also want to upgrade Oscar to Mata and possibly get Sturridge in for Adebayor. Also want to upgrade Ward to Flanagan, and bench McNaughton permanently.

So basically, I don't know where to start.

Last seasons main man rvp in for augero and giroud out for dzeko. I was flirting with a rooney/negredo combo instead but i reckon with rooney playing so deep rvp will be on the end of most of the chances.

I've actually ended up with 3 united players in my team going into the next gw, januzai/mata/rvp usually not a bad thing but the way we are playing who knows but really we have no excuses for not giving fulham a good hiding next week so rvp gets the armband too.

My plan was to shift Cazorla for Silva this week but he's in rather good form right now and Liverpool aren't exactly solid at the back and then after United who aren't exactly solid either I may just hold onto him. I'm not in a rush anyway.

Therefore my City coverage may come from Dzeko. I'll need to keep my eye on Evans' injury though but I could even potentially bank my transfer this week but Dzeko for Ade could be the way to go as I'll need a City attacker in my team before the blank GWs but may limit it to one.
