I'd probably go with Dzeko then but if you don't have Lallana then JRod is a good option. Negredo got taken off early last night so maybe MG is going to rotate Negredo or Jovetic to play up alongside Dzeko

Collins & Reid the number 1 pairing surely?

Collins is on my radar, but not if he isn't sure of a game.
Barring injury, he starts, was my understanding.
Reid/Collins started first 5 games of the season, with Tompkins on the bench. Then Collins got dropped and Reid/Tomkins played next 5, with Collins on the bench.

They've all been injured/suspended since then so tough to know who will start. As a West Ham fan I'd prefer Tompkins - looks a better defender.

I'm looking at Negredo for the same reason. Think Dzeko is a safer bet?

Do you think any City striker is sure of gametime though?

That is the only problem I have with the City strikers.

Negredo is carrying a knock and is not 100%. Augerio is out. Jolevic is 4th striker.

Dzecko is nailed on with the other two rotating and he is going to be involved.

I am punting on him for the next few weeks anyway. Ade is too inconsistent for my liking.

Negredo is so annoying; I've had him since Jan 1st for a return of 6, 1, 0, 1. But he has great fixtures until his blank in GW28 so I don't want to drop him yet.....

Do you reckon Dzeko is nailed on? How do others feel about this?

I have a feeling that he is nailed on too but I'm going to avoid for this week anyway. I'll see how they line out against Norwich first.
By that stage though I'll have Mata RVP and Silva and a bench that needs to be taken care of so it's unlikely I'll get Dzeko in with the blank GW approaching.

Yeah, no mention of Dzeko there. I accept that Negredo wasn't 100% last night, but if he trains for the week, who knows?

I suppose a positive is that with the midfielders out, City will continue with 2 up front which lessens any risk.

Considering an 8 point hit this week. Van Persie (who I would undoubtedly captain if I brought him in), Dzeko and Adrian (for the following 2 gameweeks) for Adebayor, Sturridge and Marshall.

Do people think this is a wise 8 point hit likely to make up those 8 points and more in 1 week or a panic measure?

Not too happy this week as I have two Liverpool strikers vs. two arsenal defenders but think i'll bank my transfer and hope I can play Vlaar ahead of one Arsenal defender.

I don't know tbh. I'm doing a 4 point hit to get RVP in which will leave me with him, Suarez and Sturridge. I'd be very wary of taking a further hit to get Dzeko in at Sturridges expense, although the idea did cross my mind. All you're going to need is an assist from Sturridge for Dzeko to need 10 points to make the transfer profitable. Then you've the need to transfer Dzeko out again in a couple of weeks which will probably result in another hit.

Hmmm. I have one free transfer, and can afford to do Johnson to Mata this week. Both have favourable fixtures this week. I was originally planning on doing the Mata transfer next week but am rethinking this.

Fulham have more conceded away from home than Hull (28 vs 21). United have RVP and Rooney back, so should (in theory) walk away with the game. Sunderland have form and momentum, but I would trust Utd more than Sunderland to win their next game. I'd be hoping they'd be gunning for a good victory (Mata especially) given their loss to Stoke at the weekend.

So I'm leaning towards the transfer this week. Anyone care to talk me out of it?

People are getting on the Johnson train but they have Hull next week which is favourable but Man City and Arsenal away the 2 games after, they then have a blank GW28.

    Not worth getting in IMO

Dzeko would be replacing Adebayor and that drop in value is necessary to facilitate the rest of the transfers. With that in mind, do you think it is any more sensible?

    I've dropped Eriksen for Mata

It could be a great move but I personally wouldn't do it. Not a -8. And not when we're not 100% sure Dzeko week start. He probably will but so could Negredo and Jovetic.
I also think that any team with Suarez in it is always likely to score and Sturridge is highly likely to be involved in that goal. I don't see a -8 working out too well... But that's just me...

Who is your other keeper? A 4 pts hit for a keeper rarely works. Especially considering WH play away to Villa which scored in their last 6 games and have Benteke retrieving some form.

Speroni is my other keeper, he will be the one playing in goals this week. I don't want Marshall anymore at all and Adrian looks a good shout for clean sheets in the following gameweeks.

But with that said, the 4 point goalkeeper hit isn't because of the goalkeeper. It's to facilitate the RVP transfer while going with a transfer that I think could pay off the 4 point hit in the following weeks after.

I'm conflicted, because I will only want Van Persie for one week. But I'm inclined to think that RVP could well bag a hattrick this weekend, and if he did it would be 34 points for me. Even if he was to score a goal and an assist that would likely to be 24 points which would pay me off nicely. This Fulham team are awful and have to play a midweek game tonight (hopefully with extra time too)

Very interested to hear what others think about it when you consider that the other 2 transfers do strengthen my team also. Obviously if RVP scored just 1 goal or less I would have to consider the move a bit of a failure.

I was going to slate this post and in particular the bolded bit, but he scored a goal and assist in FULHAM (away) fixture, so you could be on to something.. :o

I'm inclined to think Fulham are there for the taking. And there aren't many better to do it.

Benteke on form, Rooney spent large parts of the Stoke game playing in centre mid.

Ozil & Silva are out, used my 2 transfers for Mata & Hazard.
Mata is a good differential (14% ownership) and will hopefully experience "the bump" in terms of performance from new surroundings & team-mates.
Hazard has had 3 blank gameweeks in a row. He usually ends this type of run with a barrage of points and chelski will play with confidence from now on.

Good point so i think i may drop ozil for mata but something in me thinks ozil could be hitting form i don't know why.

I don't know why either. Liverpool and United next. Mata definitely a good choice as a transfer in for him.

Love the thinking :D :pac: ...

I'd ask you one question then. Can you afford VP with only a 4 pts hit? How much you have in the bank once gotten rid of Ade & Sturridge and taken VP ?
If you can't, considering your options and the fixtures this could well work for you.

Just when you say you want VP for only one week, does this mean you'll sell him after the Fulham game ? Think despite the current look of United he's fixture proof. And anyway bar the blank in GW28 United have pretty favourable fixtures coming up!

    - edit -

OK that was several questions  :pac:...
