Was on the bench today I think, should be back next weekend I'd say.

Not buying the RVP rush, Utd are not playing well and it is a lot of money to be throwing at a player.

Hes expensive, but he has 9 goals and 2 assists in 12 starts. It's not as good as last season, but it's still a fairly consistent return. Fulham are possibly the worst team in the league right now. If I could, I'd have RVP in my team, but I'll have to make do without. Not looking forward to next sunday at all though, I'd be happy if he just got the one goal.

having 7.5m locked up in a defender is crazy imo, while I agree with your comparisons, and no knowing your team, you could put the money to better use than bringing in RVP, united are sh!t atm, they also have a week with no game, so your going to have him sitting on the bench I assume.

    Boruc, Kelvin-Davis
    Baines, Koscienly, Azpil, Bruce, Mariappa
    Silva, Hazard, Mata, Lallana, Gnabry
    Suarez, Sturridge, Adebayor

I'm all ears and open to suggestions. 3.2 in the bank.

Hopefully a precaution . also seeing that adebayor went off close to end with an injury. Can't seem to find out for sure

Heard adebayor was injured, whether just a knock or serious, don't know yet, have him and Dzeko along with Suarez since Aguero got injured. Match of the day should tell the story.

would you consider Johnson - the guy is on fire atm,
Ade is pretty useless atm - if dzeko were to start tomorrow and score then I think that he would be a good replacement.

But seeing your team and the fact that untied are home next week - Fulham could be in for a hammering - but potentially you want RVP to be scoring at least 2 goals to make it worthwhile, but with the arsenal game 3 days after will RVP finish the game v Fulham?

Johnson is on fire, but no more than Ramsey earlier the season I think that ship has sailed. Plus the Sunderland fixtures are taking a turn for worse. I'm not willing to sell one of my big 4 mids to get Johnson in and don't want to switch to a 2 striker attack either. I upset my whole team to get RVP in for that Palace game at the start of the season and an wary of doing the same again but the bottom line is that Baines has to go and I need a good striker until Aguero returns.

RVP and Ollson would be my suggestion. With reid coming back from injury and a new lb signed and demel made of glass the west ham defence is a minefield. Ollson is guaranteed for GW 28 & 29 which is important. You could then transfer adrian in for davis to get west ham coverage giving you perfect rotation with boruc. Having 2 utd attacking players based on the evidence so far this season may not be wise for too long though. Im still undecided which one of mata and rvp I want. Cant justify spending over 20% of my overall budget on 2 players from a team that hasnt been convincing in attack all season.

Why is it crazy? He averages better points that most midfielders at 5.1ppg? Bang for buck not many players give a better return so far this season.

Ya. Olsson looks like a good move alright. I can play Mariappa next week and bench Olsson. As regards the two United attacking players......... I agree that it might sound foolish to have two of them considering their form but I don't know who else I can pick. Lambert and JRod are out of the equation because I already have Lallana and one attacker from Southampton is enough. I have Sturridge and Suarez. Giroud has horrible fixtures. Benteke and Villa still have a lot of convincing to do. Forget about Chelsea strikers. Don't know who will play for City and how much game time they'll all get. All in all I'm not left with a lot of choice really!!

Mata's chance creation stats are excellent and even if not winning games United will score goals. Mata has been at the heart of everything for them so far. I think he's starting to look like a valuable FPL asset.

RVP if you can afford him will also return well with the service he'll get.

United also have the advantage of a garuateed game in GW29, and not a bad game too.

I have both and hope to hold onto them.

RVP will be coming in to my team alright. It's just the replacement for Baines that I need to worry about. Going to have a closer look today but my original pick of a Sunderland defender was rightly shot down and the suggestion of Olsson was a good one. I'd like a West Ham defender ideally but don't know how they'll line up yet. I could always get Reid in for 4.7 and play Mariappa next weekend incase Reid comes in off the bench again. Or just go with Olsson and save that 0.5m over Reid. I prefer West Hams fixtures to Norwich's and I think with Reid back West Ham will be much more solid defensively. I might also try to find someone just for next week and when Reid is settled back in I'll just go for him...................

The Gw 28 & 29 advantage is a key attraction of the Norwich option. I've Brown and will be trying to switch to Olsson after next week but may have other priorities.

RVP could potentially be FF gold. A lot of people will simply not be able to afford him and would have to really disrupt their team to get him in. What it means for me is no Baines obviously, and only time will tell how that affects me. The other thing it means is that there is definitely no chance of getting Yaya now. If Silva does get injured I'll have to go to Navas.

When I think of a couple of the transfers I made/didn't make that would have saved so many points and so much money........ Not getting Ramsey. No need to elaborate there. And selling Lallana when Silva came back from injury. I got Lallana first when he was 6.2m?? Had to buy him back last week for 7.6. When I think of the points I missed out on from him. Those are two of the major decisions that I got wrong that cost me big this season. The other was ripping my team apart in GW4 to get RVP in.:mad::mad:

need shot of bruce and i suspect mariappa too.

had planned on bringing evans in but will have to see what his injury is like.
might just take the norwich advice from this forum and switch bruce to olsson.

if mariappa loses his place i might bring in joel ward for him as i'd still like palace defensive cover. will obviously only do one of these, (and assuming i get no injuries to more important players)

Please don't tell me Mariappa is going to lose his place too? I badly need him for next week

I'm not entirely sure, i just know FFS have him down for right back this week with joel ward in midfield. if joel ward switches back to right back it could be at mariappa's expense. Mariappa can obviously play centre back too but they bought scott dann friday. I know very little about palace though so someone more clued up than me might be able to answer much better.

edit: it's not today i'd be more concerned about, it's once they have all players available.

Cazorla and J Rod/Ade out for Negredo and Colback leaving me 2.5 in the bank to address any other issues next week, looking like Aguero may not get back into my team this season .....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Have £2.6m in the bank from the Aguero sale and looking to bring in a City defender. Was originally looking at Zab but Kompany at £6.3m has caught my attention. City have a great run after Monday. 4 home games in six and all fixtures against teams in bottom half of table.

    Gameweek 25: Norwich (A)
    Gameweek 26: Sunderland (H)
    Gameweek 27: Stoke City (H)
    Gameweek 28: BLANK
Gameweek 29: Aston Villa (H) BLANK IF CITY BEAT CHELSEA IN FA CUP FIXTURE
    Gameweek 30: Hull City (A)
    Gameweek 31: Fulham (H)

Also want an attacking City presence for these fixtures so probably looking at Ozil out for either Yaya or Silva. The former would mean getting Zab over Kompany though as I'm £0.1m short. City haven't been too good at the back but I can see them picking up some clean sheets from these games. Just need to hope Chelsea can knock them out of the FA Cup so they play in GW29.

Ade out for me this week. Will watch the city lineup with interest today. If Dzeco starts then will likely get him in and just live with the risk of rotation for a few weeks.

So Januzaj looks like he's lost his place in the team with the arrival of Mata. He'll be my sub this week. Have 9.1 to splash out on a mid, any suggestions?

    Already have:
    Yaya Touré
    Assaidi
    Hazard
    Eriksen
    Rodriguez
    Benteke
    Suárez

What's the story with the West Ham keeper situation?? had Jussi lost his place to Adrian now? Looks a no brainer shipping Marshall out for Adrian if that's the case! Cheaper and with far better CS potential

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,141 ✭✭✭Santi101

Might go Bony to JRod.....Bony being one of the few mistakes in my wildcard.

JRod has to be one of the best value players in the game and good fixtures to boot.

are you buying him for defence reasons, compared with coleman who is 1m cheaper and on the same team, having baines doesn't make much sense to me. why did you compare him to midfielders when I am talking about defenders?

If he thinks so much about bains and by your reasoning why get rid of him now?
